For someone who has a new album out, this whole thing has sure gotten boring fast.

Even the fan sites are dull lately.

Usually, I can count on them to provide some things to laugh at, but all they do now is post new tour dates (like on this boring blog page at Drowned Madonna).

She did a lame video or two awhile back, appeared on a show a couple of months ago, and that's... it.

I used to be able to count on Madonna hatin' to at least keep me entertained, but that's not even happening these days.

I think she doesn't care about her music because she knows it's not what will bring her her biggest revenue.
This awful album is just an excuse for her to go on tour again and rake all the money she can. I hope she'll continue to do that because, then, maybe more people will realize how shallow, soulless and unsincere the "Shame Of Pop" truly is...
But I have a good news for you flea, "Hard Candy" is somewhat of a flop.
It has sold only 1.7 millions of copy in 7 weeks while "Confession On A Dancefloor" had already passed the 4 millions bar at the same time! And last but not least, there are still many countries where she didn't even sell, in 7 weeks, with "Hard Candy" what she had previously sold in one week with "Confession On A Dancefloor".

And despite Madonna's very desperate attempts to drum up interest in herself, her new album, and her upcoming tour, what with her putting out all the divorce, "Nim-Rod" baseball player affair, Britney Spears may tour with Madonna, and "Miley Cyrus says: I want to be just like Madonna" rumor stories are Bor-ing.
E.g.,

:snoring:  What a snooze.

Mainly, the only news out about Grandma-donna right now pertains to her 50th birthday, and this birthday reporting has been going on for several days now.

I think I'll go do a google of "Britney Spears" or someone else.

Well it just goes to show the Empress is truly naked.....

Like FM Veteran Bob Welch said, she can't age gracefully and still thinks she can get a rise out of people at her Middle Age....

And it must kill her that her Brother Chris' book got more internet chatter than her new CD  :knock:

I've noticed ever since I began using the phrase "sour grapes" to descibe fan tantrums over anti-Madonna material at blogs that the fans (in reality, marketers from Warner Brothers who have been hired to post pro-Madonna trash all over the web) have started to use that phrase.

Someone, in a follow-up comment on the page below, defended Madonna and used the phrase "sour grapes" in his post. Maybe more people visit this board than I thought.

Madonna: A Miracle is Required
  • Madonna: a miracle is required
by ANDRZEJ LUKOWSKI - Wednesday, August 20, 2008

We used to have a love-hate relationship with Madonna. Love, because for the past decade she's continued to make quality pop songs - Ray Of Light, Music, Hung Up. Hate, because when she slips up - American Life, American Pie - it makes us seriously question our reverence for this woman who refuses to age gracefully.

At the moment, though, are we not just a little non-plussed with her? This year's Hard Candy album saw her finally make a foray into voguish Timbaland-helmed R&B. As it is, though, even Nelly Furtado had done it already, which pretty much dulled the effect. Of course, we are talking about a woman so popular that nobody even quibbles about her charging at least £55 for a ticket.

But combine a ho-hum new record with the fact it's only a couple of years since she last called in at this same venue, and somehow the prospect of a Madonna concert isn't quite so exciting as it should be.

Yes, having two successful tours two years apart misled Madge and/or her "people" to overestimate the demand.

I have the impression at least some fans spent the $$$ to see the Confessions tour because they thought it might be her last one. Now we see (due to the Live Nation deal) she'll be doing a lot more tours.

Maybe some fans will just wait until her contract is running out and it really is her last tour. LOL, she can't even try the come-on of claiming it's her "farewell tour" because everyone knows about her contract!

As for the fan sites, I think they started out legit. But then WB and/or Madge's management cozy up to the admins...and eventually they're no longer truly independent sites. Except for a few less-blind fans on their forums or comment areas, you won't see anything that strays from the party line!

Maybe it's just me, but this latest tour is very blah.

Not just the tour itself. I mean, nobody is making a big fuss about it.

There aren't nearly as many reviews of it as there were for the tour before last, or even the last one.

I think that Stoopid tried to interject some controvery in this tour (several articles have described the Vogue part as "raunchy," and she slapped together a photo montage showing Adolph Hitler with John McCain etc), but the whole affair is dull.

As I noted in the Repeats Herself thread, the tour seems to be a tired rehash of her last few tours.

Wow. Not only has the public at large lost interest in Man-donna, but I guess she's gotten lazy.

Maybe (and I'm keeing my fingers crossed) even the media have gotten bored with her?!

Is anyone awake at Madonna Inc.? For someone who has a tour going on, this stagnant situation is strange (and kind of funny).

For the past few days, the same old links have been sitting atop the Google news page:
  • Madonna's McCain comparison slammed
The Press Association - 6 hours ago
Madonna's comparisons of Republican presidential hopeful John McCain with Adolf Hitler and Robert Mugabe are "outrageous, unacceptable and crudely divisive ...

Madonna's Tour Is Sticky and Sweaty FitSugar.com
And much of the rest of the content is the same.

If it's not more links about the Hitler/McCain ordeal, it's crap about her fashion going on display.

Even the tour reviews are frozen - this has been on the front page now for about 2 or 3 days, unchanged:

100% correct, all around.

She's not getting nearly the mileage out of the McCain video "controversy" as the cross scene from the last tour.

I gather her management was shuffled around since the last tour. Seems the new team isn't getting the job done.

Even fans who hang around fan sites are complaining the tour is a rehash! So imagine what casual fans (not to mention non-fans) think of it.

BTW it occurs to me the A-Rod affair business faded away as quickly as it appeared. I'm inclined to think that was a publicity stunt but it doesn't seem to have accomplished much.

Well it seems all the attention is now focused on Barack Obama, Michael Phelps, and now John McCain's VP Selection Governor Sarah Palin (R-Alaska)

I wonder how Madge feels now considering 'Adolf" MCain has selected a WOMAN as his running mate and not her Darling Democratic Party ????

And as for the A-Rod fracas, it is rumoured the Steinbrenner Boys and the Yankee Organization has quietly asked her to kindly not visit the ballpark with her brood....

MESSAGE TO MADONNA - "STICKY AND SWEET TOUR" SETLIST CRITIQUE SET LIST
  • http://www.myspace.com/stickyandsweettour - Madonna, please reconsider your setlist for the "Sticky & Sweet Tour', in this video we give you some constructive criticism and offer some alternate choices to songs you have done too many times (you can drop LA ISLA BONITA, MUSIC and RAY OF LIGHT, they have been done to death and need a break). BRING BACK SOME OTHER HITS!!! See ya at the show! :)

There's a lot of fans complaining on the following page, i n the comments section at the bottom. I've pasted in only a few of the remarks.

Rumored Sticky and Sweet Setlist SPOILER ~ HardCandyMusic ...
  • Well here's our take on that rumored list. To hear Borderline finally after 23 years would be AMAZING, but for me thats about the only WOW moment of this rumored list. To included Music, La Isla Bonita and Ray of Light AGAIN after their inclusion at several of her recent tours and other events is so predicitable and boring, she has plenty of other CROWD PLEASERS she can include

    Dress You Up
    Angel
    Take a Bow
    Open Your Heart
    Gambler ( I know we're dreaming right!)
    Causing a Commotion

I hope that setlist is fake, cuz it is really bad. She's repeating tracks that were played till dead in her last 3 tours (that happened all in the present 00's decade), instead of classics that everyone wants to hear like Angel, Who's That Girl, Open Your Heart, Cherish, Rain, I'll Remember, Nothing Really Matters, American Pie, Love Profusion and so many others, that haven't been played for years or that were never played.

If this is the final setlist, I won't go to the show. It's not worthy.
    [posted by] Donna

I do hope she sings BORDERLINE. I LLOVE that song and would totally LOVE to hear her sing that again! On her new DVD I only like 2 songs, 4 minutes and Thats Not Me. I cant see how everyone loves the other songs. They sound so blah.
    [posted by] Louie

I THINK THAT LIST IS RIDICULOUS. and if that is indeed the setlist i will sell my ticket in a "heartbeat" No pun intended.

several of those songs were done on the last tour. who wants to see all those songs done AGAIN?

im already a lil turned off to begin with because i hear much of the choreography for the hard candy tracks that were used in the promo tour, is being used for sticky and sweet. Which i think stinks because that choreography was far from something special.

I also thought about this when I heard the news earlier!! Madge was blindly supporting Hillary simply because she's a woman...will she now vote for McCain?!

I'm not a fan of either party, and I don't know a lot about Palin's politics or voting record, but from what I've seen/heard about her personally she seems like my kind of gal! :good:

I don't find this era that boring !

Vadge is looking more and more like a corpse and tons of people including some of her die hard fans starts to realize how phony and tacky she is. In France, for example, the TV shows that mentions her are tougher with her since she has released the pathetic and degrading "Hard Candy".

There's a show called "Nouvelle Star", the French equivalent of "American Idol", where one of the panelist has reproached one of the contestants to not sing as well as GagDonna. But then one the other panelist said that he saw "Madonna- Sticky & Sweety Promo Tour" and that she couldn't sing to save her life !

And, one the most famous French Newspaper, "Le Parisien", said that her tour gave the impression she was running after her youth (I'm doing a little translation for all of you since I doubt you speak French but who knows ?) while singing a bad setlist completely off-key! They also said that Britney completely outstaged her during her dreadful performance of "Human Nature".

Seriously, all this AntiMadonism is a breath of fresh air. :good:

After all this years where I cringed in front of my Tv each time they'd referred to her as a "multitalented, chameleon, savvy bussiness woman, pop genius", it seems like, finally, Europe is starting to open his eyes concerning ManDonna !

I don't find this era that boring !

I'm glad you're optimistic, but when I say I find things boring lately, I mean...

The news coverage has been boring, particularly American news coverage and the sorts of stories that have been showing up in Google News and Yahoo News.

Some days, the headlines don't even change on these news pages, they just sit there. It's the same headlines day after day after day.

Madonna's new tour is boring. Even her manufactured stabs at controversy during the tour are boring
(Flipping the bird at her show? She does that on every tour, every public performance, and the John McCain Vs Hitler fiasco was dull, too.
It doesn't take much thought or energy to tee people off by slapping up a photo of Hitler next to the photo of someone else.)

(Even this British review of Madonna's show in Nice, France says it was boring.)

If I, as a Madonna hater, cannot even get worked up over her stunts that are meant to be offensive, what does that say about her career now?

The fan sites post articles from European, Mexican, Asian, and South American news outlets, and all the ones I've seen on those sites are boring, too. They're mostly just the same old re-hashes of the tour that we've already seen a million times before.

If you have a different impression and are seeing a lot anti-Madonna-ism in France, that's great, I'm not knocking it.

From where I sit, though, things are very boring.

Her career is past stale right now, and so are most news articles about her and her tour, which in turn means that this forum gets a little slow, since we do not have much to talk about.

M' D"ho"lla

I'm doing a little translation for all of you since I doubt you speak French but who knows ?
I don't know French, but Iron Shadow and Knight Muzic do.

I enjoyed reading your translations of the French articles that insulted Madonna. :good:

It's funny if the French are starting to bash her now, because for years, they seemed to like her more than other Europeans.

With more and more Younger and Brighter Female Artists catering to the Adolescent and early 20's crowd, Madonna is starting to become as relevant as the 8-Track Tape...

Not to mention people are starting to laugh behind her back as she tries to act 25 in a 50 year old body....

Before you know it she'll be doing the Vegas Strip along with the other aging Celebs ....

Or starting her own Theatre in Branson Missouri fighting for audiences with the Osmond Family !!!

Can you imagine her at Branson ????

"Hey I'm Madonna !!! Come to my Supper Club for the 6.99 ALL YOU CAN EAT FAMILY BUFFET !!!! Not to mention you'll see me do all my Greatest Hits afterwards !!!

You know there's a really popular show in France called "100% Mag" and there's a segment about celebrities at the end of it. Man, I can tell you the person doing this part hates GagDonna guts !

In May or June, he was complaining about the fact that David Banda will have to live with, I quote, "an old poptart singing awful R'n'B music!".
Yesterday, he did it again by saying that even at 50 yo GagDonna was till keen on relying on tacky controversy while spealing about her dedicating "Like A Virgin" to the Pope.
