Big Hollywood Although this blog is being billed as a 'conservative' blog, I dunno. I'm seeing some moderate to what I perceive as slight-left views creeping in, not only from some blog contributors, but also in the comments sections. Judging from one slam against neo-cons/Zionists I saw in the comment section of one blog entry, I take it there might also be some wing nuts (far, far, right crack pots) in the audience. ~Or else, these types of mal-contents bashing Israel in the threads visitor areas might be paleo-cons. Don't get me wrong: I do think it largely a conservative blog, but from what I have skimmed so far, it's not consistently, through-and-through conservative, or not conservative enough for my taste, or not on all topics/ authors/ entries. Still, if you're a conservative, you may find some of the content informative, helpful or interesting. Big Hollywood From the above site: One Pissed-Off Dude This one is linked to at their blog, but is actually hosted on Limbaugh's site: Rush Limbaugh: What breitbart's doing 'is crucial' |

I have it bookmarked - the editor-in-chief used to own a site called Dirty Harry's Place, a site I visited frequently. He's a conservative, and so is the owner, Andrew Breitbart. But yesterday I did notice two posts that were verrrry libertarian - these were regarding that stupid ABC Family show The Secret Life of the American Teenager, a show about some stupid teenage girl who got pregnant. I guess that's supposed to be shocking and controversial, but in the real world, it's business as usual (I don't condone teenage pregnancy at all, but honestly, a show about some teenage girl dealing with a pregnancy is rather boring and the issue has been dealt with on plenty of other silly teen dramas). Anyway...one guy said that the show was boring, and one woman said that it's too squeaky clean and that we need more sex and drugs on TV to benefit the kiddies. I was aghast. Plus, this site is the one that first showed the clip of Sarah Palin answering her critics, and of course, every single Palin-hating loonie has gone to the entry so they can insult Palin and all her supporters. It's getting a lot of attention, and Breitbart himself said that the site wasn't going to cater to prudes, which kind of disappoints me, as all that means to me is that there will be more idiotic posts saying we need more porn on TV so we can put them in proper context for our kids. Right now I am adopting a 'wait-and-see' attitude regarding this site.

Okay, it's starting to piss me off. Not the site itself, but the commentators - specifically, the fact that the site administration lets the absolute worst liberal trolls post whatever they want. It's like they all came straight from DU, and they don't even care about it. They think it fosters 'discussion'. No, it's just a bunch of lefties insulting the site, its contributors, and the commentators. I am really sick of it. |

Yeah, one of the last times I was there, there was an Anti-Zionist troll butting into one thread continually, and he was not removed. He was mostly trying to be disruptive for the sake of being disruptive, not defend his view, which is why he should have been banned. I don't tolerate that here at this board, so I hate to see it happen at other blogs/ boards/ sites. To a point, I will let disgruntled Madonna fans cuss me out and insult me in the 'Cranky' forum, but because it's not contributing anything meaningful, it needs to be cut short after awhile. I always play it by ear, whether to let someone like that go on for one post, two, ten, or 100. I never did set a hard and fast limit on how much fan griping I will permit, because it's hard to say. I take it on a case by case basis, if the person shows a willingness to calm down after the initial flaming and actually engage in a polite conversation. If they want to intelligently or politely discuss why they think Madonna is great, fine, I allow that, but just coming on a board or blog to post 'You suck, I hate you' in every post is not only rude, but it's incredibly boring. Permitting those with a different view point to post is fine, but if most or all of it is just insult, that's a waste of everyone's time. |
