Why is it any time a woman becomes famous in our country, these sleaze balls offer her a role in a porn movie? They did the same thing with "Octomom."

Miss California Offered Million Dollar Porn Role

NY Daily News carried one of the photos; you can't see the girl's boobs in the photo- her back is to the camera and one arm is covering her boob (view photo).

I haven't seen the other photos, so I don't know if her chest is visible in those, or if they're more of the same (back to camera).

Pageant official "stunned" that more racy pics of Miss California Carrie Prejean might surface
  • News that even more racy photos of Miss California Carrie Prejean might exist has stunned California's state pageant officials.

Prejean, the center of controversy ever since expressing her anti-gay marriage sentiments at the Miss USA pageant last month, apparently told pageant officials that only one provocative photo existed - the one first posted at TheDirty.com earlier this week.

TMZ reported that Prejean sent an e-mail to Keith Lewis, co-director for the Miss California USA pageant, saying, "This was when I was 17 years old. I was a minor. It was when I was first getting into the modeling world, being naive, and young. I shouldnt (sic) have taken the photo of me in my underwear. There are no other photos of me. This was the only one I took."

But on Wednesday, pageant officials learned that at least three other racy pics exist.

"I'm absolutely stunned. This completely changes things for us," Lewis said in a statement to "Access Hollywood."

"Yesterday, we thought she had explained things accurately. We need to revisit this issue with her."

Prejean signed a contract stating she has never been photographed nude or partially nude and the Miss California USA Organization told "Access" they will meet with runner-up Miss Malibu Tami Farrell in the next few days, suggesting she may soon be taking over the title of Miss California from Prejean.

Farrell told Billy Bush of "Access Hollywood" that she was ready to assume the tiara if need be.
Evangelical Miss California, Carrie Prejean, poses topless

Topless Photos of Miss California Could Cost Her Crown
  • Carrie Prejean's Work Opposing Gay Marriage May Also Violate her Contract

Miss California Carrie Prejean stands to lose her title by working for a group that opposes gay marriage and posing semi-nude for pictures when she was a teenager.

The directors of the Miss California USA pageant are currently looking into whether Prejean violated the 12-page contract all contestants are required to sign before the November state contest.

The document prohibits whoever holds the title of Miss California from making personal appearances, granting interviews or making commercials without permission from pageant officials and gives the pageant's directors the right to revoke her crown for breaching any of the document's provisions.

Since being chosen runner-up at the Miss USA pageant, Prejean has made televised appearances at her San Diego church and on behalf of the National Organization for Marriage, a group that is opposed to same-sex marriage.

An advertisement the group created based on Prejean's controversial answer at the Miss USA pageant about whether she supported gay marriage remains on the NOM Web site, despite a written request from the Miss Universe Organization, which owns the Miss USA pageant, to remove it.

Last week when Prejean was in Washington to announce her support for the new ad, Keith Lewis, co-director of the California contest, expressed concern to The Associated Press.

"There is a contract that all participants sign that is very involved and very intricate and limits a lot of their activities," Lewis told the news agency.

Also of concern are semi-nude photos of Prejean that surfaced on the Internet earlier this week.

A racy photo of Prejean wearing only pink panties was posted on gossip blog TheDirty.com on Monday.

Another photo was released, making it a total of three. I saw them and they're not even that bad. Of course, she shouldn't have done it, but whatever, we all make mistakes. They're doing this in the hopes of discrediting her by making her out to be a hypocrite. These pics have absolutely nothing to do with what she said at the Miss USA pageant. She voiced an opinion on gay marriage, not nudity in pictures. Yes, Christians should not pose topless or anything like that, but that does not change the truth in what she's saying.

I can just tell this will be a flamefest. <_<

These same people who are offended by the words "queer" or "f@ggot" don't have a problem with using the derogatory term "Bible thumper" to describe this Christian gal, Carrie Prejean.

Campaign to Destroy Miss California Escalates - Hot Air Blog

If you haven’t seen the “scandalous” new photo yet, feast your eyes. It’s been many moons since I’ve looked at the Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue but I remember shots like that being in there even when I was a kid. (Or even sometimes on the cover.)

Which is to say, it’s very late in the day culturally to be feigning shock at material like this — and yet NBC, the network that aired photos and video of the Virginia Tech killer glorifying himself, has decided that the pic’s simply too hot for the Peacock to handle.

A cynic might wonder if they want viewers to imagine that it’s worse than it is. Good thing I’m not a cynic.

There’s an open question of when the photo was taken — she says it was several years ago, others say it’s more recent — which may be relevant to whether she was a Christian or a pageant contender at the time but doesn’t much matter to her critics.

Their goal, using the pretext of “hypocrisy,” is simply to try to make her radioactive within her own political and religious communities by painting her as some sort of fallen woman.

It didn’t work with Palin vis-a-vis Bristol’s pregnancy and it won’t work here, but presumably they’re drawing some gratification from the mere thought that they might be causing her discomfort.

Pure vindictiveness, but then what did you expect?

Update: Maggie Gallagher from the National Organization of Marriage issues this statement. I told you it wouldn’t work.

Because Carrie honestly said what she believed in answer to a question–marriage is the union of a man and a woman– she is now the subject of ongoing character assassination.

The level of hatred directed at her is astonishing.

Even more astonishing is her personal courage and strength of character in the midst of these attacks.

Of course Carrie is not perfect. On a personal note, as a former unwed mother, I want to say to Americans: you don’t have to be a perfect person to have the right to stand up for marriage.

Nothing gay marriage advocates can do can change the fact—we all saw it on national TV—that Carrie is a young woman who surrendered all the glitter Hollywood has to offer, because she would not become the kind of person afraid to say the truth.

Through Carrie, we are also learning, the lengths some people will go to hurt and harass those who speak up for marriage.

'Hot Air' reader comment:
  • SOoooooo…
    …let’s see if I get this right…

…the folks who so gaily wail away in support of transgender individuals and their “choices”…

…are suddenly sanctimoniously outraged at a heterosexual, white female who might have had breast implants?!

Somebody please turn the irony off.

Left Digs up Irrelevant Suggestive Pictures of Miss California
  • By Iris Somberg
    May 5, 2009

In a clear attempt to smear Miss California Carrie Prejean for promoting traditional marriage, a photo hardly as suggestive as many lingerie ads was released on the Internet on May 4.

The caption for the picture that appeared on The Dirty.com clearly showed that the intent was to embarrass and discredit Prejean for her view on the issue of same-sex marriage:

"Exclusive: Self-proclaimed bible thumper Miss California, Carrie Prejean, should start pointing the finger at herself for her own indiscretions. TheDirty.com has received exclusive images of the homophobic debutante that would clearly strip her of her Miss California crown.
So much for being a good role model for the state of California Carrie. Looks like your Dirty photo shoot makes you a sinner too. I decided."

Celebrity blogger and gay activist Perez Hilton, who precipitated the controversy by questioning Prejean about gay marriage while he was judging last month's Miss USA pageant, also posted the photo on his blog and taunting: "The Lord works in mysterious ways! Opposite marriage advocate Miss California, Carrie Prejean, topless and in some cute pink panties. Is that biblically correct????"

Prejean responded in a statement released to the media on May 4:

"I am a Christian, and I am a model. Models pose for pictures, including lingerie and swimwear photos. Recently, photos taken of me as a teenager have been released surreptitiously to a tabloid Web site that openly mocks me for my Christian faith. I am not perfect, and I will never claim to be."

Miss California continued to say that these are intimidation tactics being used to undermine her reputation and silence her beliefs.

After signing on as spokesman for the National Organization for Marriage and saying "I'm going to do whatever it takes to protect marriage," these photos were released.

Maggie Gallagher, President of the National Organization for Marriage, also responded, stating in a press release that "Because Carrie honestly said what she believed in answer to a question--marriage is the union of a man and a woman-- she is now the subject of ongoing character assassination.

The level of hatred directed at her is astonishing."

After the April 19 pageant Hilton said "Miss California lost because she's a dumb b---h," and had plenty of other insults for her. Hilton continued to use this as a platform to promote gay marriage.

Hilton and Prejean's other tormenters haven't explained how the photos are in any relevant to her (respectfully stated) belief that marriage should be between a man and a woman. Even though a majority of Californians and even President Obama agree with Prejean, she has become a convenient target for the hatred and bitterness of many on the left.

Clearly there are a lot of things that non-Christians just DON'T UNDERSTAND about Christianity. An example can be seen in the quote from The Dirty.com:

Quote:

Regarding the bold part...Carrie never said she wasn't a sinner. She, and all other Christians freely admit to being sinners, fallen short of the glory of God. That's why God sent His only Son to Earth - to die on the cross for our sins, so that we may ask for His forgiveness and go to Heaven when we die. I believe that Carrie mentioned in her statement regarding these pictures that she was not perfect. Christians will be the first people to admit that they're not perfect, and that they're sinners - WE'RE ALL SINNERS. Even after you accept Jesus as your personal Saviour you are still a sinner!

Furthermore, she wasn't a debutante...debutantes do not participate in pageants. They are honored at a big society party to mark their entrance into adulthood, and to show that they are eligible for marriage. Debutante balls and beauty pageants are two completely different things.

And another thing - the Bible ought to be capitalized, as it's the title of a book.

These anti-Christian bigots need to get their sh** straight before going after Christians or religion itself. It helps to know what the hell you're talking about (and believe me I know, I went to a Christian school for four years in Florida and I still know that stuff after all these years).

There are a lot of misconceptions about Christians and Christianity, that's for sure. There's also a lot of ignorance about Christian beliefs and doctrine.

I am forever seeing Non-Christians misquoting Scripture for their own purposes (e.g., the "Judge not lest ye be judged" bit and the "pray in private" verse, etc)

It's rather pathetic that the only time many Non-Christians even crack open a Bible is to find "ammo" to use against Christians, and, as I said, they almost always take the verses they're quoting out of context, or misinterpreting them to suit their own agenda. (That's always been a pet peeve of mine.)

You're absolutely correct - the Bible states that all of humanity is fallen, that all are sinners.

The only difference, the Bible says, is that Christians are forgiven sinners, whereas your Non-believers are not forgiven.

The worse thing that can be said about Prejean in this fiasco is that she might be a hypocrite, but her being a hypocrite does not negate her views about marriage.

It might make the homo-marriage guys feel better to point at her and say, "Hypocrite! Hypocrite!," but it doesn't automatically prove their case in favor of homo-marriage.

I'm not in complete agreement with her decision to pose for those quasi-topless photos, but compared to other trash I've seen, they were tame by comparison.

(OTOH, someone on a TV show I watched was saying that there are "worse" photos of Prejean out there, but the people who own them have not released them.)

When I first heard the word "topless" used to describe these photos, I was expecting full-on, frontal boobie nudity, but what we got instead were side shots of a partial boob, which is hardly scandalous.

I don't care for these sorts of photos myself, but if we were to rate them on a scale of 1 to 10 with 1 being Innocent to 10 being Totally Slutty, I'd say they're about 2.

Miss USA -- Not All Topless Photos Are Equal
  • Posted May 9th 2009 11:00AM by TMZ Staff

There's another reigning beauty queen who took some very topless photos before she won her pageant -- but unlike Carrie Prejean, Miss Rhode Island USA's crown was never ever in jeopardy.

[View Miss Rhode Island Photo; IMO, it's more "racy" than the Prejean photos]

According to Alysha Castonguay, she dropped her top for a Maxim magazine shoot and a few swimsuit calenders way before her competition -- but there was no controversy over the pics because they were all seen and approved by the Miss USA pageant officials.

But Alysha tells TMZ she feels for Miss Cali saying, "I personally believe this situation is stemming from the controversy over her opinion and not a photo."

The final decision on dethroning Carrie Prejean is still being deliberated by the Miss USA and Miss California officials.
Look at this headline from TMZ:

Carrie Prejean -- The Origin of Homophobia

Simply being in support of traditional marriage does not make one a "homophobe." :rolleyes2:

(I mean, would it be fair or accurate of me to say that proponents of homosexual marriage are "anti-straights," or "HETERO haters," etc?)

Here's an excerpt from the TMZ page above: (the page mentions that Prejean's parents went through a divorce years ago):
  • Also in the [divorce] docs -- a handwritten letter from Carrie's older sister, in which she recounts a weekend stay with her dad:
"One time my sister & I went in the hallway of my dad's apartment, & his roommate's door was open all the way & we saw [the roommate] in bed with another man. I don't think it's right for my sister & I to have to live that way."
--- EDIT --

Take it Down!
  • Miss California Carrie Prejean wants to put a lid on those nude photos that have been posted on the Internet -- stat. We've obtained a cease and desist letter fired off from Carey's lawyer to thedirty.

In the letter, her lawyer says, "One of the displayed images of Ms. Prejean was illegally taken under false pretenses when she was a 17-year-old minor and unable to consent to its creation."

The letter goes on: "The other image depicts Ms. Prejean's likeness but is not an actual photograph. It is an electronic manipulation ["photoshopped'] of her image created without her consent."

I agree that she shouldn't have done the pics either, but they're not as bad as photos of other celebs, such as Cassie and Rihanna - nude pics of both women were leaked this week. Cassie's in particular were very vulgar and pornographic (well, one pic anyway).

I remember another beauty queen getting caught up in the 'racy photo' scandal - candids of her at a party or something, pretending to kiss girls or something. I don't remember her name, though. I don't think it was Miss Rhode Island, though - the girl was blond.

Hatin' on Miss California is not about a Contract
  • by Earl Ofari Hutchinson

The issue for the umpteenth time is and never has been about whether Carrie Prejean violated the dumb, probably legally challengeable, and possibly legally winnable Miss California contract she signed.

The two supposedly most glaring offending sections of the contract that Prejean allegedly sloughed off state that a Miss winner can´t appear in a lewd, compromising, and sexually suggestive manner and that the pageant has exclusive right and control over all Miss´s personal appearances.

    The first clause is laughable.

Compare the picture of Prejean in the skimpy bikini that she pranced around the stage in and the supposedly illicit picture, a picture which by the way that was taken ages before she or the pageant ever heard of each other, that rocketed around the internet of her in her pink drawers.

Then decide which is the most lewd, compromising and sexually suggestive.

The second clause that gives the pageant the right to control any and all of her personal actions is dubious.

The compelling words in the clause are "to me." The clause is there to make sure that Miss California doesn´t rake in any cash or engage in any commercial promotional ventures or talent appearances that don´t line the pockets of the pageant organizers.

Plugging a message for a religious group hardly fits that bill. A message in which she expressed a belief that the world has heard and every one else has by now heard. The contract, though, gave the pageant wheels just enough of a legal cover they hunger for to dump her.

None of this changes the hard fact that the effort to boot her is about a beauty pageant winner who was asked about and then dared to speak her mind on one of the most polarizing, and divisive issues of the day, namely marriage between a man and a woman.

The question smacked of being a set-up question if there ever was one. The political thought police earmarked for excision before the last of those ill fated words fell from her lips in response.

The Prejean saga is also about a beauty pageant winner who innocently and inadvertently exposed the silly and hypocritical charade that beauty pageant sponsors delight in pawning off and that´s that brains and talent trump a pretty face and bod.

Prejean´s honesty in stating her marriage beliefs violate the most sacred canon of politically correct policing, and that is that anything that an advocacy group deems that smacks of their interpretation of bigotry must be swiftly and harshly banned in Boston.

There is no room for debate or discussion. To defend Prejean against this view has absolutely nothing to do with agreement or disagreement with her views. This writer has written a Mt. Everest stack of articles, commentaries, and backed countless protest actions opposing Prejean´s narrow view of marriage and gay rights.

But the fight against her views has never been waged by mounting a systematic and relentless hit below the belt, ad hominen, sneaky, back door campaign of character assassination, mud slinging, and lies.

A campaign against her that even included a dim witted, juvenile delinquent effort at a Freudian analysis of the bedroom battles of the woman´s divorced parents to explain her.

With or without her beauty crown, Prejean is an ad person´s and a religious fundamentalist dream, in fact several dreams. She´s young, photogenic, gutsy, and articulate.

She can be spun as the imperfect soul who found redemption through a cause she believed in even when it meant kissing off the vapid glitter, glamour, and fortune of the beauty celebrity life.

To her backers, Prejean stands as the beauty queen who is more than just another pretty grinning face, sex commodity.

She stands tall as the beauty queen who refused to be hacked up on the altar of political correctness. That´s the Miss California that the beauty pageant and the hate on Prejean crowd unwittingly created.

Trump says Miss California USA can retain crown

Excerpt:
  • Miss California USA can retain her crown even though she failed to reveal she had posed in her underwear as a teenager, pageant owner Donald Trump said Tuesday. Carrie Prejean appeared by Trump's side as he made the announcement at New York's Trump Tower.

Trump also defended the answer that Prejean gave at last month's Miss USA pageant when she was asked her view of marriage by judge Perez Hilton, a celebrity blogger. She said she believes marriage is between a man and a woman.

"It's the same answer the president of the United States gave; it's the same answer many people gave," Trump said. "She gave an honorable answer; she gave an answer from her heart."

Trump said he and other pageant officials had reviewed racy photos of Prejean and decided they were acceptable.

"We are in the 21st century. We have determined the pictures taken are fine," he said, adding that "in some cases the pictures were lovely."

After Trump spoke, the 21-year-old Prejean, who was accompanied by her parents, took her turn at the lectern, defending herself against what she described as vicious attacks.

I believe her when she says that the actual topless photos (nipple slips, really, released by TMZ earlier today) were taken in between shots - this is something photographers do to models....they'll keep taking pictures while the model is changing poses, hoping to get something naughty. I first heard of this when I read Geri Halliwell's first autobiography If Only. A photographer did the same thing to her, and the photos were released during the Spice Girls' heyday.

Anyway, I saw the press conference and she gave a great speech (it was pretty emotional, though). Her detractors are so pissed right now, lol.

Donald Trump: Miss California can keep her crown

Miss Calif. uses Obama to defend stance
  • May 13, 09

Miss California Carrie Prejean and Miss USA pageant owner Donald Trump yesterday both defended the much-discussed answer she gave at the Miss USA event - that marriage should be between one man and one woman - by asserting that it is the same as President Obama's stand on the issue.

Obama has supported equal benefits and civil unions for same-sex couples, but has opposed gay marriage. "I believe marriage is between a man and a woman. I am not in favor of gay marriage," he said in an MTV interview just before last November's election.

After Trump announced yesterday that Prejean will get to keep her crown despite a series of racy photos, she claimed she had been unfairly criticized for speaking from her heart and using her constitutional right to free speech. "That should not happen in America," she said, her voice breaking with emotion, at a news conference given wall-to-wall coverage by the cable networks.

Prejean jumped into the fray herself by helping unveil a TV ad campaign launched late last month by the National Organization for Marriage criticizing her critics. "I've become an advocate for not redefining marriage," she said yesterday.
Dethroned Miss Nevada Peeved by Miss California "Double Standard"
  • There once was a beauty queen who took naughty pictures and, some years later, did not get to keep her crown.

Despite the magnanimity shown to Miss California Carrie Prejean, Katie Rees—Miss Nevada 2007—was out of luck when racy pics of her showed up after she won her title.

And she's none too happy about what she perceives to be a "huge double standard."

"Semi-nude photos are semi-nude photos," she told E! News, comparing the topless lingerie pics of Prejean with her own shots, which featured a 17-year-old Rees baring a breast, flashing her thong, and doing her best Katy Perry impression.

Miss Universe Organization honcho Donald Trump deemed the photos inappropriate and stripped Rees of her Miss Nevada USA title in December 2006.

And this isn't the first time since that Rees has spoken out in opposition to the less harsh treatment doled out to some of her pageant peers.

She called it "unfair" when Miss USA 2006 Tara Conner was allowed to keep her title after the then-underage beauty queen was spotted drinking in various NYC bars and, at one point, kissing one of her gal-pals.

Rees said today that she and Prejean both signed contracts swearing that there were no nude or semi-nude photographs of them in existence.

And they both broke the contract, Rees added, but she is the only one who had to pay so harshly for her mistake. She asked for a chance to reclaim her title, but was denied.

"I don't know why I am the only one who was punished for their behavior," she said. "I was only 19 when those photos were taken of me, and it was me in my personal life, far before I was crowned Miss Nevada. Carrie actually posed for these professional semi-nude photos.

    "I think that's worse."

Miss California: It was the photographer’s fault
  • On the morning after Donald Trump declared she could keep her crown as Miss California USA, Carrie Prejean admitted that there may be more revealing photos of her than just the two sets that almost cost her her job.

“I’ve done many photo shoots, Matt,” Prejean told TODAY’s Matt Lauer Wednesday in New York. She said that sometimes photographers continue to take pictures when she’s dressing.

“It would be like a photographer going into my dressing room and snapping a photo of me without my being aware of it. If a photographer is willing to make an extra buck and did get a photo of me, so be it.”

    ....‘Nothing dirty’

But after she raised a tabloid firestorm by speaking out against gay marriage on April 19 during the Miss USA pageant, a set of photos of Prejean in pink panties surfaced on the gossip Web site thedirty.com. When she said the photos were taken when she was 17 and were the only revealing pictures she had taken, another set, including some showing her breasts, showed up on TMZ.com.

    Inherit the wind

At the Tuesday press conference, Prejean has said that the latest revealing photos were taken during what she thought was a break in a shoot on a wind-swept cliff. She is wearing a tiny vest in the pictures, and in some of them, the vest is blown away from her breasts.

She expanded on that story Wednesday, emphasizing that the photographer was not authorized to sell pictures of her topless.

“I was right on a cliff. The wind was blowing. It was just the photographer and I,” Prejean said. “I should have been a little bit smarter. I shouldn’t have been there, probably, alone with him. But I was making adjustments … it was basically a wardrobe malfunction.”

But the photographer in question, Dominic Petruzzi, gave a differing account through a statement issued to TODAY later on Wednesday by his attorney, Brooke Gabrielson. “My photographs speak for themselves. Carrie did pose for the photos,” began Petruzzi’s statement, which included an underline beneath the word “did.”

“The wind did not blow her top open,” Petruzzi’s statement continued. “I am proud of the images I created — they are tasteful and not at all offensive, just as Donald Trump said this morning. I am pleased that Carrie kept her crown, and I wish her nothing but the best.”

The former Miss Nevada's pictures were far worse than Carrie's - this is the girl I had mentioned in another post. I remember this scandal from 2006...it was all over ONTD. The former Miss Nevada was seen licking other girls boobs and also licking some girl's underwear - you can see those photos here (definitely NSFW).

Shanna Moakler, co-director of the Miss California USA pageant has resigned in protest.

FOX News: Shanna Moakler resigns as Miss California pageant director

I say that's BS because Shanna is a former Miss USA (2005) and went on to pose for Playboy - I know that was after she held the title and all, but still. It makes her look like a hypocrite - she can't even maintain the standards she held when she was Miss USA. That makes it so obvious that she's doing this not because Carrie Prejean posed 'topless' but because this whole 'let's leak nude pics of her so she can be stripped of the title' was put into motion because she had the nerve to publicly support traditional marriage.

Prejean Slams Olbermann, Calls Out Liberal Media Double Standards on Today

Carrie Prejean Sex Tape: Video "Biggest Mistake of My Life" Says Ex-Miss California USA

I agree with Prejean's stance against the legalization of homosexual marriage, but I won't defend her regarding posing in the nude or appearing in sex tapes.

No genuine, self respecting Christian girl would pose nude or appear in a sex tape (and young age is no excuse- at age 17, I knew this kind of thing is wrong, so should she. It's not rocket science). I'm fairly sure she's claimed at one point to being a Christian, though I may have that wrong.

You know, she might as well 'fess up to every naughty thing she's ever done, because her enemies keep slowly leaking this crap which I think is more damaging.

Every three or four months, it seems like someone leaks a new nudie pic of her or whatever.

She needs to just come clean of it all right now, tell America all the sleaze ball stuff she's ever done. If she goes that route, it will take the wind out of the sails of all the Perez Hiltons out there who are trying to bring her down. Rip the Band-Aid off quick instead of the slow, painful route.

Miss California Officials to Carrie Prejean: You Owe Us for Those Boobs!

Sean Hannity, Miss California, & the Dangers of Hero Worship

Excerpts:
  • With so much invested into Prejean as a representative of traditional values, revelations of topless photos, not-so-Christian emails, and a sexually-explicit video she once made for a boyfriend cannot help but embarrass those who rushed to embrace her.

I understand that young people make mistakes. People change. I don’t think Carrie Prejean should be branded with a scarlet letter and cast out of society, nor do I want conservatives to begin a witch hunt for everyone with a troubled past. Christianity is a religion of humility and redemption, after all, and if Prejean’s experiences make her an effective spokeswoman for that message, more power to her.

But casual sex is a very real problem in American culture, and using youth as an excuse for bad behavior is exactly the wrong message to send the next generation (indeed, her only advice to young girls in love is, “be careful; nothing is private anymore”—not “respect yourself,” not “sex has consequences,” not abstinence).
Please note: the headline of the following story is misleading.

Prejean did not actually say that 'Obama is a bigot' period.

Prejean merely pointed out that her view on the legalization of homosexual marriage is the same as President Obama's, and so if you are going to refer to her as a bigot, that would mean to be consistent, you'd have to refer to Obama as a bigot as well.

Carrie Prejean calls President Obama a 'bigot'

Carrie Prejean: Sex Tape Was 'Biggest Mistake of My Life'
  • Carrie Prejean says a steamy tape she made for an ex-boyfriend a few years ago was “the biggest mistake” of her life.

The former Miss California USA told Fox News’ Sean Hannity Monday that she shot the racy tape by herself for a boyfriend she loved when she was 17. Later, he “betrayed” her and sold it.

“They can call it whatever they want to call it, but it was the biggest mistake of my life,” Prejean told Hannity. “I was all by myself and I was sending a boyfriend at the time who I loved and cared about a video of me … I was not having sex with anybody and you call it whatever you want.”

Prejean, now 22, said she was young and exhibited bad judgment at the time.

“I was a teenager at the time and never did I think it would ever come out. But it was bad judgment and it’s embarrassing and it’s humiliating to be talking about this now on national TV if you can imagine.”

Prejean lost her title in June, which she attributes to her opposition to gay marriage. Pageant organizers said she was skipping official events.

Earlier this month, Prejean and organizers reached a confidential settlement. Since then, she has released a memoir entitled “Still Standing: The Untold Story of My Fight Against Gossip, Hate and Political Attacks.”

Prejean told Hannity that she feels she is the victim of a political attack aimed at conservative women, but that her faith helps her stay grounded amid the controversy.

“[My story] gives Americans just hope, and it shows them that, you know, Americans should not be attacked for their beliefs. They should not be silenced. You know, we have the freedom of speech. And I was punished; I was fired. I was brutally attacked and [am] still being attacked. People are still trying to dig up things from my past.”

As I wrote above, I don't agree with Prejean on every point, but what disturbs me is that a lot of people on the left seem to view her as a poster girl for conservatives and Christians, so when they knock her, they're knocking those groups by extension, and that doesn't sit well with me.

My impression of the matter is that the American main stream media, which is largely liberal, and guys like Perez Hilton and Whoopi Goldberg, are using her as a proxy by which to attack all conservatives and all Christians, especially since they are taking such glee in ripping her apart. (Those same groups have used characters such as Pat Robertson for that purpose for decades now.)

Carrie Prejean throws temper tantrum on 'Larry King Live'; calls host 'inappropriate'

Carrie Prejean to Sex Tape Critics: "Christians Aren't Perfect"

Carrie Prejean accuses Larry King of being 'inapproprate' and then fails to walk off his set
  • You know that video that's going viral today -- trending on Google and Twitter, thanks in to large part to celebrity blogger Perez Hilton -- of Carrie Prejean calling Larry King "inappropriate" on his talk show last night and threatening to leave?

We'd like to call it "inappropriate" too. And maybe even throw a "misleading" for good measure. In the entertaining three-minute clip, Prejean becomes agitated when King repeatedly asks her why she dropped her claims of libel, slander, and religious discrimination against the Miss USA pageant. TMZ has reported that Prejean decided to strike a deal only after the lawyer for the pageant revealed a homemade sex tape of a 17-year-old Prejean.

King wasn't asking about the particulars of the settlement, just why she settled, mind you. But Prejean repeatedly called him "inappropriate," took off her microphone, and appeared to want to leave. She never really owned that moment, we should add. She fumbled, looked around the room, and stayed sitting in the chair, even though she had removed her mike.

And then after the commercial break -- which you don't see on the clip that hit cyberspace last night -- Prejean is still in her seat. She didn't go anywhere. There was still her new book, "Still Standing" to promote. So she forgave King for his other violation -- Prejean's publicist had set some rules: no phone calls and King had turned to his phone lines when she refused to answer his "inappropriate" questions.

The air was cleared, King apologized saying his producers didn't warn him of the no-calls rules, and King got to the new matter at hand: Prejean's future.

The following is an excerpt from that portion of the conversation:

King: What are you going to do next?

Prejean: Oh, my gosh. I'm just so excited to be, you know, promoting this book. I'm so excited to be an author now. It's really great that -- I'm 22 years old, and I think that I've accomplished so much. And I think that there is definitely a message out there to spread to young women and that is, you know, never do anything that you wouldn't want your biggest fans to see or, you know, never do anything that, heaven forbid, your dad would see.

So I think that there's definitely a message out there to spread to young women, to just be careful of what they do. And you can definitely learn from my mistakes.

King: So you have some regrets?

    Prejean: Excuse me?

    King: You have some regrets?

Prejean: Well, obviously the choices I made when I was a teenager, you know, that doesn't reflect who I am today. So yes, there were mistakes in my life. And no one's perfect. And I'm definitely owning up to those mistakes. As far as the pageant goes, no, I have no regrets.

Does Larry? We've asked him for a comment. We'll report if he appropriately gets back to us.
Whoopi Goldberg Calls Carrie Prejean 'Bitchy,' Joy Spars With Elisabeth On "The View" (VIDEO)
  • "The View" heated up Thursday morning over Carrie Prejean and her interview Wednesday night with Larry King.

Prejean called King "inappropriate" and threatened to walk off his show after he pried about why she settled her lawsuit with the Miss California pageant.

Elisabeth Hasselbeck and Sherri Shephered attempted to defend Prejean, arguing that King shouldn't have pushed her on the subject because he should have known it was off-limits. Joy Behar and Whoopi Goldberg, however, thought Prejean handled herself poorly.

"All I'm asking is, be fair to her," Elisabeth said.

"You know what, she's also got to be fair," Whoopi responded. "We had her on the show, we asked legitimate questions. And maybe they were not the most comfortable, but she was a little bitchy, I have to say....so I'm a little cranky at her."

"I think what she is experiencing is a little of a backlash that maybe is unwarranted in some ways, and she is fighting for her life at this point," Elisabeth said.

"She's the one who put herself out there, she didn't have to write the book!" Joy shot back. "She can go into hiding, nobody would care. They'd say, 'Oh that pretty girl, what happened to her?'"

"Why do you hate her so much?" Elisabeth asked Joy.

"I don't hate her, I hate hypocrisy," Joy responded. "I don't hate her, Elisabeth. Don't say that. It has nothing to do with hate."

I hate Joyless Behar with a flaming passion. Yes, you rancid hag, it IS about hatred! The least she could do is have the backbone to admit it.

I don't think she should have walked off of Larry King Live (I saw a brief clip, and what she actually did was take her mic off and just sat there, which was odd). Then again, Larry King should have taken the freaking hint and moved on to the next question instead of badgering her over the reason she dropped the lawsuit (which is already known, as TMZ was the first to blab about the reason she dropped the lawsuit). In the clip I saw, he finally relented and decided to move on to a caller, but by then Carrie was just oddly sitting there with no mike. I guess she must have walked out when they went to commercial.

I think they both should have handled it better.

As for that evil hag Joyless, Carrie wouldn't have had to have written the book if it weren't for the ridiculous backlash against her due to her answer at the pageant. NONE of this crap would have happened - the semi-nude photos, her being relieved of her Miss California title, the lawsuits, and the sex tape, if she had given the appropriate, PC answer to that question.

Furthermore, yes, she was totally wrong to have done the sex tape (which isn't really a TAPE, but some footage taken on a cell phone). Christians are not perfect, and they do screw up. I know I do.

Not all people who make sex tapes are horrible people. And there are rumors going around that she was 17 when she made it. There are also some more pictures of her released that make me really wonder if she really is a Christian. No Christian girl I have ever known (and I've known quite a lot) would have taken the pics I saw at TMZ (these are pics of Carrie and the jerk who leaked the sex tape to the pageant's lawyers and TMZ, his face conveniently blurred out - he should be exposed for the whole world to know of him as a sleazy sell out).

Making her out to be a role model at this point is not a good idea, at least for conservatives. This girl has too many skeletons in her closet - she should take herself out of the libturd crosshairs and go do some good works in anonymity or something, and move on.

Okay, I just found out that there are rumors of there being seven additional sex videos she made (all "solo", if you get what I mean), which brings the total to eight. There's also 30 nude photos, according to Radar.

Radar: 30 Nude Photos, 8 Sex Tapes of Carrie Prejean Surface

Commentary from Ace of Spades
I thought the commentary from Ace of Spades was pretty interesting, and pretty much mirrors what I believe:

At any rate, that's not my problem with Prejean. My problem, instead, is that she has enlisted supporters, such as myself, to support her in her legal/PR campaign, on the theory that the California pageant had nothing legitimate to boot her out on, and that only anti-Christian animus could explain their behavior, when in fact... well, first the photos, which were racy, but I excused and defended. And then, well, the masturbation tape, which I kept quiet about.

If this is true, then she needs to stop lying and come clean about everything, because if she doesn't, things are just going to get worse for her.

As for the guy who leaked these to the pageant lawyers - he's a jerk.

Also, I must make the point that she violated the terms of her contract with the pageant, with the nude photos that have been released, and this sex tape (or tapes, if they exist), of which has not actually been released to the public. Even if the tape wasn't meant for public consumption, she should have fessed up to it, since you can't trust ex-boyfriends.

She seems nice enough, but I will pray that she will be compelled to be less deceitful, if this is true. And if it isn't, I pray that she'll be vindicated.

ETA:

This one "Hot Air" reader comment sums up my feelings about the matter:
  • Clearly I must now support gay marriage. Because she did naked videos and stuff.

That's one thing I find so annoying about the Prejean mess:

Some folks thinks she's a hypocrite, so therefore (according to their wonky sense of logic) that somehow magically validates homosexuality, or the legalization of homosexual marriage, and it makes homosexuality instantly and indisputably hunky-dory, a-okay.

I'm not surprised that more and more smutty stuff keeps being released.

Carrie Prejean made 7 other sex tapes, dozens of nude pics - report New York Daily News
  • It looks like Carrie Prejean spoke too soon when she called her recent sex tape the "biggest mistake" of her life.

Either the seven other sex tapes that have just surfaced aren't actually salacious, or else the former Miss California has a little more to atone for.

RadarOnline.com has just learned that the dethroned beauty queen has no less than eight sex tapes and 30 naked photos to her name. As in her previous sex tape, she performs solo on each video.

Some of the new sexy photographs that have been unearthed Prejean allegedly took herself, of own reflection in a mirror, alternately topless and completely naked.

Prejean created a national controversy earlier this year when she spoke out against gay marriage during the Miss USA pageant. Her stance put her at odds with the pageant committee, which she later sued for libel, claiming she had been discriminated against for her religious views.

Prejean settled out of court on November 3 after her first sex tape surfaced. On Wednesday she threatened to walk off Larry King Live when the host questioned her about the deal.

Perhaps she can chalk up the moment as another error to add to her growing list.

I actually finished reading her book last night. In the first chapter, she mentions that she wasn't the kind of girl to sleep around, or whatever. I thought that was funny, because while she hasn't slept around, she has these nude pictures and sex tapes out there...so is she really that much better than those girls she was talking about (she was mentioning the hedonistic, sex-and-booze culture in college, and how she, as a Christian, didn't fit in).

I'm not going to defend her regarding the sex tape or photos either. And I agree that she needs to come clean on anything else, for the same reasons you stated.
