I'll just copy and paste what I wrote on Tumblr Keep in mind this is all only my opinion!! Man oh, man, this show came back with a bang. And while Oliver and pretty much everyone else on the show has changed, they are still basically the same people. (Unlike BatB). My ship has had a few amazing scenes…..Felicity verbally abuses Oliver….he acts all condescending and aloof….it’s been incredible!!! No really, I love Felicity getting all up in his face and not backing down and not kissing his ass. But I also love that while he takes all of her ire, he still takes to heart what she says. He appreciates her being honest with him and not holding anything back. They are so perfect. I know alot of folks are still pissed about her new position at QC, but I never thought about it in a bad way. I immediately took it the way Oliver meant it….in many of the fanfics I’ve read Felicity couldn’t be close to Oliver in the public eye because…why the hell would he hang out with an IT chick. But this position allows them access to one another without any questions arising about why they are together. Publicly or privately. I LOVE that this seems to be the impetus to them getting to spend even more time together. Also, I love Oliver and Shado on the island. Those scenes this past week in the water were very sexy and soft and I loved it! All that said I do have a complaint. Yep, ya’ll knew what it was…Laurel. I mean really? You didn’t seem to have a problem with the Hood when he was saving your ass all last season? Yet you blame HIM for Tommy’s death when if your sorry butt hadn’t been in the Glades, where EVERYONE TOLD YOU NOT TO GO, Tommy wouldn’t have needed to save you, thereby not dying. Yeah his father holds the ultimate culpability in his son’s death, but if you want a non-dead person to blame look no further than your own mirror. Stupid stupid little girl. I had hopes that at some point I’d begin to understand her motivations, but so far….nada. She’s continues to come across as an ungrateful, whiny, cold fish. |

I agree about Oliver and Felicity, they were golden together here, I loved Felicity being angry at her new position though I don't mind it, it's the logical position for her to assume in the context and it made the best scenes of the hour. I don't mind Laurel's quest to catch the Hood too much 1) because I think she may be rejecting a part of her own feeling of guilt about Tommy's death ( a bit like her father last year who was treating Oliver like if he had killed Sara) and she needs someone to accuse. Unfair probably, but understandable 2) because I think she has a point by thinking that a wild card going around to make his own justice is more a danger than a help. It was her point at the beginning until she called him pushed be desperate circumstances and it started changing her mind. But at the end he failed at protecting someone she cared about so now everybody remotely linked to it has to pay and everybody acting out of the laws is a danger. Plus she doesn't know the whole story. It won't specially make me love her, I just think it makes sense for her character imo. |
