Dad got a 3G internet card.

It isn't super fast, but it's a big step up from the crap we had before.

3.6 mbps is much better than 24.6 kbps.

Not fantastic, as far as I can tell.

It really seems to be based on the strength of my signal. I'm getting the lower side of 2/5 bars right now, but I'm dug back in the hills at my grandma's.

I managed to watch a 30-ish second YouTube video in a decent amount of time, as well as a flash game.

Haven't tried to stream any music, just because video did still take a lot of buffering.

Last night, I started a 30mb file, and was getting an estimated download time of around an hour... Which was unbelievable for me. It isn't actually doing anything right now, though.

I'm going to try it out a bit more when I get home, and we're going to set it up to a router and an antennae, which I'm hoping will really help me out. It seems like, depending on signal strength, you get either upper dial-up speed, or pretty good.
