ROFL. That's awesome. Reminds me of something I read from Orson Scott Card in which he pointed out the similarities between Ender from his own Ender's Game and Harry Potter in response to J.K. Rowling suing someone for having a character to similar to hers or something of that nature.

Wait...

Ender is Harry...

It all makes sense now!

Except the first one doesn't annoy me!

I forget all the correlations, but it was dealing with home life and how they end up going to some school away from everything they know because they're special so that they can gain knowledge to save people, etc.

EDIT:here, found some quotes. Not the one from Card that I wanted though.

Like Harry, Ender is a special boy, chosen out of many for a special school, with great enemies, ambiguous friends, beset by envious bullies, and excelling at the school sport.

The parallels are obvious - an exceptional child is taken to an elite academy in order to develop his skills in hopes of, eventually, defending the world from evil.

Like Harry Potter, Ender Wiggin gets very little love and support and engages our sympathy from the start, like Harry Potter the setting is a school environment and like Harry Potter, Ender is a child with the hopes of many adults resting on him like a huge weight.
