01. The Fundamentals

..:: 1.1 Who is in Charge?

The league will be ran by James, RedBull and Backstrom. Anything related to the league can be sent to bardownsim@gmail.com. The Admin team reserves the right to make amendments to the CBA as deemed necessary for the health of the league.

..:: 1.2 GM Responsibilities and Requirements

In this league you will GM a fantasy hockey franchise. It is required that you be active to certain degree. This includes being on the forums, and being available in some way for other GM’s to contact you, and attending any league events that you can. It is required that you check your PM’s in this league. Along this you will also have to post lines and instructions for most of the sims. There will be activity checks, Where you will need to post on to show that you’re still active and still want your team. If you do not sign on once every 24 hours you are at risk of losing your team.

..:: 1.3 GM Conduct

This is a fantasy league. Nasty behavior, cheating, harassment or any other behavior deemed inappropriate will get you banned.

Along with that every GM is responsible for managing their team regularly. Any GM absent for over 72 hours with out any notice can potentially lose their team.

..:: 1.4 Sim dates

We will have 4 sims per week on ______ , ______ and ______ . 1 sim will be 7 EHM days.

02. Lines

..:: 2.1 How to Update Lines

For each sim, posted your updated lines in the “Lines” section. All lines must fit with in the line restrictions and all changes must be in bold.

..:: 2.2 Line Restrictions

EHM has some super tactics which need to be managed. To maintain realism in the league we have restrictions on line strategy use.

Full Strength

  • Hit & Grind - Can rather be used on ONLY the 2nd line or on ONLY the 3rd and 4th line.
  • No more than 2 of your lines can be defensive strategies (HAG or NZT)
  • The 4th line can not have longer shifts than the 3rd line. and if the 3rd is the same as the 2nd. ur 4th must descend fromt he 3rd.
  • The 3rd line can not have longer shifts than the 2nd line.
  • The 2nd line must have shorter shifts than the 1st line.

Special Teams

  • Power Play - Only 1 F can play D on the PP
  • Penalty Kill - Only 1 D can play F on the PK

..:: 2.3 Goalie Limits

Goalies never play all 82 games in a season, teams always play their back ups. So we have a system for the number of games a goalie is allowed to play in a season is in relation with his endurance. Here's how it will work:

  • 49 or less = 51 games
  • 50-59 = 56 games
  • 60-69 = 61 games
  • 70-74 = 63 games
  • 75-79 = 66 games
  • 80-84 = 68 games
  • 85-89 = 71 games
  • 90-94 = 73 games
  • 95-99 = 76 games

Once a goalie has played his minimum of games, he will need to be benched the remainder of the season. If you start a goalie that is not allowed to start anymore, you’ll get penalized.

1st offense - Warning
2nd offense - Goalie is benched for playoffs for as many games as he went over his limit. If team doesn’t qualify for playoffs forfeit a 4th round pick.
3rd offense - Goalie is benched for playoffs for as many games as he went over his limit, and has that many less games he can play next season. If team doesn’t qualify for playoffs forfeit a 2nd round pick.
4th offense - Fired

It’s not our responsibility to check your goalie status every sim, check your lines, check last sim. This won’t happen if you just tell us what to do.

03. Trading

If you comment on a trade that you are not involved in. You will be warned the 1st time. If it happens again then you will be gone.

..:: 3.1 How to Post a Trade

When you and another GM have come to an agreement you must post the deal in the appropriate Trade forum. For draft picks, include the year, the pick value and team name the pick belongs to. You can trade injured players but you have to make that clear in the post. See example below of how to post a trade.

To Detroit Red Wings:
Joe Sakic {Injured 4 months}
07 COL 2nd

To Colorado Avalanche:
Steve Yzerman
09 DET 5th

..:: 3.2 Trade Committee

The trade committee is in place to prevent trades that could damage the league long term. They will be stricter on newer GM's and more lenient with the more experienced GM’s. Why? Because the experienced GM’s have built up a trust in the league and are more likely to remain committed to their teams. The Trade Committee will have the final say.

Under no circumstances can a GM comment in a trade thread that they were not involved in, only exceptions are Commissioners and TC.

You can’t get mad at the TC for not explaining why they rejected if you don’t explain why you did the trade. That said, if one TC member rejects or approves and gives reasoning, if the TC members have nothing new to add they can simply say accepted or rejected.

Trade Committee:

For 2013/2014 Season:

  • James :stl:
  • Villy
  • JIM :fla:
  • Backtrack :chi:
    AV
    Crazycanucks

..:: 3.3 Future Considerations

Future Considerations will be allowed in any trade. The considerations must be posted be very specific. If a condition is met, its your responsibility to post in the trade topic and let the simmer know.

..:: 3.4 Exploiting

There are many ways to exploit the trading process. This will not be allowed, and the following actions are done to avoid any form of exploitation.

UFA Dealing. To prevent teams with a lot of cap room signing a UFA and then trading him, no signed UFA may be traded until the all-star break.

Consistency Increases. You may not trade a player back and forth to get a consistency boost. This will also include trading a draft pick to a team, telling them who to pick, and trading for them to get a consistency increase.

04. Salary Cap

..:: 4.1 Salary Cap Limit/Floor

There will be a $64,300,000 cap limit for each NHL team.

We might changed this at the end of each season, we will NEVER change this mid season. If we are planning on changing it we will warn you at the deadline about a future cap change.

There will be a $40,000,000 cap floor for each NHL team.

..:: 4.2 Exceptions

During the off season you will be allowed to go over the cap, as long as you get under before the start of the regular season. If you are over cap by over 3 mill you can not send in UFA offers during the off-season.

Any played injured for over 2 months will not count against a salary cap for the time he is injured. Any injury under 2 months is considered short term and will still count against you.

..:: 4.3 Penalties

If you’re over cap for

1 sim - Bench best player
2 sim - Bench two best players
3 sim - Fired

If you’re under cap for

1 sim - sign FA to 1 year contract @ 3 million
2 sim - sign FA to 2 year contract @ 3 million with NTC
3 sim - Fired

05. Contracts

..:: 5.1 Contract Restrictions

The maximum contract that a player can have is 20% of the salary cap, and for a maximum length of 8 years.

All signings and resigning are done through the corresponding Player Agent

  • Forwards - Backtrack :chi:
  • Defensemen - Crazycanucks :col:
  • Goalies - Jim :fla:
  • PA’s PA - James :stl:

..:: 5.2 How to Send a Contract Offer

Send a PM to the corresponding Player Agent with all the contract information and reasoning. Feel free to use any reasoning, some reccomendations

  • Does the player you’re signing have a brother on the team? Or father as a coach, might save you some money.
  • Is your team in his hometown? Might be more inclined to sign.
  • Do you guarantee he will get 1st line minutes with Crosby? More reason for him to sign. (PA’s will be watching to see if you fulfill on your promises.

..:: 5.3 RFA Compensation

06. Entry Draft

..:: 6.1 Draft Lottery
