Whether or not an animated work or series is actually going to happen, the current plan is to start with adapting at least one story for manga. Because this is going to be done separate from any potential anime, it's important to select a story that is interesting without being something that needs to be repeated for an animated series. This release will build hype for the project if done right, though, so there needs to be a careful balance between making it interesting enough to catch the reader's attention and boring enough that nobody feels frustrated that we "wasted" a story at the beginning. Probably not an "essential" story, but rather something that's a good intro to the concept.

Selecting this story is the first step. The next steps are assembling a team and starting actual work. We need an artist or artists who are willing to commit to the project and see it through to completion, since someone dropping out midway would require us to start from the beginning unless we want a drastic change of style halfway through. Writing, editing, typesetting, etc are also important but much less so since a writing style can be imitated or redone much more quickly than pages of drawings.

So in this thread we should discuss which story is best to be adapted into a (potential) one-shot, I guess?

most definitely not a bear in disguise
This greentext story some anon posted seems like a good place to start. It has that beginning-y feel to it, I think, though that may just be me.

>shot of MC coming home after a long day of work (or school/college/uni) and getting comfortable, going up to their room/wherever the fuck they keep their computer
>"I don't have very many friends, my family is fairly distant to me and, well, I gave up on most of my hobbies a long while back. When people ask what I do in my spare time, I usually dodge the subject--something I've learned how to do with years of training--but the truth is..."
>cut to a computer screen displaying an OP post, the name "anonymous" in the name field and the words "Anyone else watching this show?" in the body of the post. To the left is a screencap from an anime with a suitably generic animeism subtitled beneath it.
>"The truth is, I've been spending the last 4 years of my life," the protagonist begins, and sighs deeply, "with THESE faggots."
>cut back to the screen, two more posts are visible, both by other anons. One reads "sage for shounenshit" and the other, "X is mai waifu"
>"I've tried to leave, but the truth is, there's no place I'd rather be."

Copypasta from the pad

INTRODUCTION (ROUGH):

Michael dragged his feet across the harsh surface of asphalt paved driveway as he walked back to his studio apartment. His heart was as heavy as his feet after meeting with his academic advisor for the third time this year. Michael softly muttered, "T-that faggot. I can definitely graduate this year." as he fumbled with the keys to his apartment.
Stumbling into the apartment, Michael immediately walked over to his second-hand PC and started it up. Just hearing the whir of the internal fan helped him calm down, and Michael slouched back on his squeaky chair in an all too familiar manner.
Opening up his firefox browser, his homepage "4chan.org" popped up on his screen and he clicked on the small icon labeled /r9k/. Menancing words "ROBOT 9000" appearing in bold letters filled his screen with a bright pink background. Michael gulped nervously. He wanted to talk about how his life sucks as a 6th year university student, but the dread of posting on a shitty board overcame him.
Scrolling back up to the top, he immediately clicked on the small "a" located on the top left corner. He started a new thread which only consisted of the phrase "2Chuu4U?" and the .gif of Rikka twirling her index fingers.
"Fuck off" said the first reply. "Saged, reported, called the cops, fucked the neighborhood dog, sued ur mom, and hidden" said the second reply. The third reply stated, "Shinka is the best girl".
Michael grinned a little. He was back home.
