most definitely not a bear in disguise
We have a very large cast, so let's start off with some broad strokes. We don't necessarily need to use every archetype, and we don't necessarily have to use archetypes on the list. Take one, or make one, give them a name, a job (or not), a personality and a story to tell.

>the soldier in Iraq
>the high school teacher
>the university student
>the homeless guy who uses an old laptop and free wifi from restaurants
>the unemployed 20-something living at home with parents who are getting fed up
>the young kid who's trying to be edgy and doesn't understand shit
>elitist neckbeard
>normal guy who hides his powerlevel (has a daughter?)
>transsexual
>Super athletic guy who plays handegg, but just likes to stay inside and watch cute girls doing cute thing.
>lurker
>successful normalfag who doesn't care about hiding his power level?
>autonomous activist who gets in conflict with himself over enjoying politically incorrect hentai & animu
>fujoshit or an actual homosexual
>there should be among them at least a drawfag and some insider, such as a mangaka or an animator or something like that
>Regular guy hiding his powerlevel all the time
>Morbidly obese guy
>Woman pretending to be man to avoid ridicule
>Third-world guy
>Homeless guy
>Annoying as fuck tripfag
>an /a/non who sold out and is dating a /cgl/ whore. Yes, it's a real life story, but it can serve as an inspiration.
>cross-boarders?

Is there a list of statistics for where most of /a/ comes from? IF we want to stay closer to source material, that should be helpful to see which of these characters stay or go

There's probably some data out there. If someone finds it, it might help. For now, location probably isn't too important, as many of these types of people are found all around the world. We can figure out which characters are worth keeping after fleshing some of them out.
I'm probably going to start with lurker, because I suggested it, and it's my shameless self-insert.

It's a start. I assume we're making him/her (unless there will be a chapter dedicated exclusively to the femanon) a quiet person. Cuz, y'know. They lurk.

Yeah, there's no way that a lurker would be a primary character. Once I get more familiar with fleshing out these characters I'll try someone else who would be a more primary character.
A good character to start with would be one of those college-age students, as at least one of them will most likely be a primary character.

This seems to be a year-old survey of 4chan as a whole, though moot has said it should be taken with a healthy amount of salt seeing as how the methods are not really scientific etc.

I wonder where they polled though, since I don't really remember seeing any posts asking people to participate in it. I would wager it's likely a /b/ survey for the most part, I guess.

Shall we create a survey thread then? Seeing that that the 4chan survey does not give an accurate interpretation of /a/

Doing the survey right now. Guys, what if- shut up and listen for a second, guys, guys LISTEN.
The begining is the thread for THREADS that is up right now. The manga starts up with a character making a survey, we can even copy and paste their answers (which im sure will flatter them later) and we make some characters based off of these helpful anions

I suggest making two threads for the different time zones
