I would recommend you read this article carefully and then comment whether the shooter should be brought up on charges for ignoring the sign on the door. I'd really like to hear comments if he was in the wrong.

He can't possibly be brought up on charges for ignoring the sign on the door, that's not law, it's a sign on the door. You can't just put up a sign saying "no leather jackets" and expect the police to arrest people who ignore it.

I think the customer was in the right, and hope that Dollar General learns something from this and changes their policy.
