The clubs will work it out, they always do it with these sort of trades.

Any talk of PSD is ridiculous.
Both GC and GWS could pass on him. Why would either club want a player who will fly in from Adelaide from each match? Ebert is no Garry Ablett.
You know this for sure?

His real value is in what Gold Coast could get the season after in a potential trade. It would be like stockpiling a second round pick at least. Next years draft is also uncompromised.

Ebert nominates his required salary cap at $500 per year over two years which immediately rules GC out of the market. Ebert can then immediately sign a contract with Port before signing for a further two years at $200k per year bringing the salary to a 1.4m deal over 4 years equating to $350k p/y
Which is why a trade will be found. Gold Coast is short of money now?

Idiotic comment. That is why Ebert would not fly in sunshine. The average player who will go where the contract is to finish their career.

However what you will find is that WC are a quality organisation with values not understood by a rabble of budging hand outs. A win/win outcome will be found by the eagles and Ebert will be shown respect.

Would you pay $500k per year for Brad Ebert?

It depends how much value I could get out of him. Would you pay $500k in 1 year in return for an early second rounder the year after? As I've said all all along, a trade will be sorted.

It is amusing how many rumours have been on this thread that are self-perpetuating but never reach any level of actualisation.

This is true but Port just fucked over GWS for players from their already retired champions. You think Sheedy is going to let Ebert go without at least sweating on you that they will pick him up? Kevin Sheedy is what we're talking about here, he would gladly pick him up just to trade him a year later.

Would love to see what is going on in Adelaide atm. From all reports Port fans are saying Brad will go to the PSD and screw over WC. Wouldn't take long before he would be our most hated player. He definitely wouldn't want to be playing as at Subiaco anymore, imagine the reception he would get.....

He had so much opportunity that he never deserved, he should leave on a good note w/respect and do the right thing by himself and WC.

We will get nothing now that Griffen of Fremantle has nominated Port as his preferred location.
How does this work?
Griffen is still contracted to Fremantle. So in order to get Griffen, Port will have to pay something of value. A ruckman is of priority to them as well. People are saying pick 28 is to low for Ebert but this could easily be used on Griffen.

Ebert can go in the PSD if no trade can be agreed on
Ebert could go to the PSD but then Port would be running the risk that one of GWS or GC would jump in first. Port also have pick 33.
Lol if Freo are able to get pick 33 for Griffen then they are already winners. Port will offer Fremantle something like pick 51.
