Think Hill could be super useful.

I'd be very happy at the right price.
I'm in agreement with this POV. Plenty of talent, just needs to be brought out and directed.

What are opinions on WC releasing 2 and possibly 3 of Ebert, Swift, Stevens and Masten ?

Of the team that played Geelong one could argue that it was best 22 with exception of Rosa and of the above 4 only Masten was involved. Acknowledging Embley's age as well as the luck with injuries this year, the depth issues are starting to cause discontent (i.e. Ebert).

With Sheppard likely to be a midfielder, as with Smith over time and with Darling playing more midfield time next year, as well as Weedon playing the aggressive inside role, is this not enough depth to let go of another 1 of the above ?

Oh dear god no!

We've spent the drafts since the glory days rebuilding our midfield, and I'd say we've done a pretty darn good job of it. Our new breed midfielders certainly have a few keepers (Shuey, Gaff and possibly S.Selwood), but more importantly, we've developed some impressive depth. I'd argue the deepest young midfield pool in the comp (With the exception of GC). To whoever said keep Koby since hard bodied midfielders win GF, I'd like to elaborate on this idea.

Midfield depth wins premierships as well as contested ball winners and a few A-graders. Geelong were able to lose the best mid in the comp and account for their tiring old brigade due to their unrivaled depth. Players like Christensen, Duncan, Mackie, Wojo, S.Johnson were able to push into their midfield when needed and perform admirably.

No doubt our 06 premiership team would not have been as successful if not for the likes of Braun, Rojo, Stenglein, Wira, Butler, etc. as depth. All players can't be elite.

I believe that players of the ilk of Masten and Swift could develop into far more than handy players, in particular Swift. Why take two steps back to go one step forward. If we could even get Coniglio (doubtful), would he be worth our depth. I'd say no, but what do I know?

Although perhaps an O'meara would be too much too pass up on. I'd personally swap Masten + Stevens for him.

Would be very reluctant to lose all Swift, Masten, Ebert, Stevens and Stevenson in the one trade period. Especially if we recieve only Coniglio and some shitty draft picks in return.

Swift in particular we should keep. He'll be the missing piece in our midfield puzzle (As well as a nice outside player).

I would hate Neates to lose a spot on the main list for him. If we can fit them both, fine.

Neates is underrated IMO. He's no star, but he's better than Hill on a wing or HFF.

Don't mind having a look at Hill Ebert replacement who may end up a decent option on a wing if all turns out ok. If we can't fix his ability to win contested possession he has no chance, there aren't many blokes playing for us that don't go in hard.

Is he actually very quick?

Give me a decent surf.
Always looked decent, I wouldn't mind him. If he pays off could really be useful, his off-field commitment is rubbish though
