Another point is that GWS had interest in Barry Hall, so they obviously want another mature proven key forward, to go with the midfield they have through uncontracted players. This could be either Lynch or Wilson.

It's a game of ducks and drakes with Ebert and Clark, baring in mind clubs have to match offers from other clubs. I remember Richmond helped us get Josh Kennedy in the Chris Judd deal by offering pick 2. The deal has to be fair.

Clark would be a good replacement for Lynch. Big Cox is aging and Lycett is simply not ready yet. If we do get rid of Wilson, we're then lacking tall forwards (we would be down to Kennedy and to some degree Darling).

The "suitable" player could surely not be Thomas Swift?
Was thinking the same thing LOL

I agree with Mike either way - Clark and Pick 6 would be really handy pickups. Now that Jonathan Griffen isn't parting Fremantle (or so it seams....) and Port is chasing Brent Renouf the cat and mouse or duck and drakes as Maddy called it is really going to measure up

ADELAIDE has all but ruled out trumping Port Adelaide for homesick Eagle Brad Ebert.

West Coast has declared it wants to trade wantaway Ebert to the SA club which offers the best deal at next week's trade period.

But the Crows yesterday removed themselves from a bidding war, saying they have no more than a passing interest in the 76-game, 21-year-old, who has strong family ties to Port.

"We'll keep an eye on things to see what eventuates but in reality Port Adelaide is the best spot for Brad," Adelaide list manager David Noble said.

"We've had some dialogue with Justin Reid (Ebert's manager) and he has indicated Brad wants to play at Port, which we understand.

Ebert definetely going to end up at Port Adelaide. Could have helped us and at least ampted up his trade value, must be because we beat them in those prelims :P

Direct trading with Brisbane: Swift + Picks 23 + 38 in return we get Mitch Clark and Pick 30

Direct trading with Port Adelaide: Ebert + Lycett for Pick 6.

Leaves us with Pick 6 and 30 in the draft. Clark fills the void that is missing as Lycett departs and more long-term with Cox coming to the later part of his career.

We keep Lynch.

Good theory, if it was to happen, I certainly wouldn't complain.

Why would Lynch be going anywhere? He has a little tacker, a missus and they opened a clothing store in town recently.
