Approximately 15 minutes ago. DERBY rivalry is rife in the west with Fremantle's recruitment of West Coast Eagles legend Peter Sumich as an assistant coach.
Looks like RossGo didn't waste much time. Very handy pick up for Fremantle. |

On Suma's behalf he did need it to progress his career for the future. All the best Suma, you will always belong at West Coast. |

What the hell? Totally unexpected - leaves us with a bit of a blank up forward. Thank goodness Scott Burns didn't leave as well. Who can we fish for to be our forward line coach now? Philip Matera? Matthew Lloyd now that he is out of contract with Channel 10? |

Matthew Lloyd would be a great pick up, not sure that is ever going to happen though

We won't be getting Matthew Lloyd, love the lateral thinking though Maddison ![]() It may well be a good move for both parties. Sumich wants to be come a Senior Coach and with us he has achieved all he could, he was a midfield coach and a forward coach. Fresh start on our side as well, I think a new partnership would bring fresh ideas. Hoping Burns gets the role as Senior Assistant Coach. |

Totally surprised with this one. I wander if he was approached by Fremantle or if he approached them. Maybe we just wanted to promote Burns or Walsh to 2nd in charge and Sumich decided it was just time to move on. Or perhaps Fremantle just made a better deal. I wouldn't mind seeing us chase Scott Watters and bring him back home, would be a good replacement for Suma. |

Regardless of what some of you are saying, he is going to be a big loss to us. Midfield coach during our peak and now our forward coach, ironically now our strongest point. For him to be a Senior Coach though, he needs a fresh start somewhere. Thanks for the service and best of luck Suma. |
