Now that silly week is over and our brains can return to a normal status, I just wanted to see what everyone else's thoughts on this guy are because he is the one player on our list that vexes me the most. Pick 7 in 09 Coming into his third year Played 14 games last year but only managed 6 this year with a bunch of emergency spots - seemingly down the pecking order at his natural HB/BP position behind many including Butler, Hurn, Waters, Smith and Schofield So where does he fit? A quick scan of the best 22 thread quickly shows that he's smack bang in fringe land either on most posters interchange, sub or emergency spots. We know he's got silky skills, pace and a good kick, but he's still a little undersized and was very shaky early on this year, often pushed out of position against bigger opposition and hurried with his disposal. Fortunately, these are things that can easily be worked on - However, with him down that order atm, do we just sit and wait to let him cut his teeth in the WAFL, or do we try and find a way to squeeze him into our best 22 to get some games into him? Perhaps in a different role? Wing spots are sown up. HF is as competitive as HB.. I just cant seem to find a spot for him in our team baring injury (which i know is likely considering the fragility of Butler and Waters but still..) which sucks because he was a top 10 pick, he has been on a senior list for 2 years and he does have a lot of potential! Id rather he was getting a game, but we can't have everything. Sorry for bringing this up again (I know he's been discussed before). I really like the kid and I hope he comes on next season - but I just can't see it happening next year at this time. What are your guys thoughts? |

He will be fine. This preseason is only his second full one. I expect him to put on a couple of kg's and push for selection pretty consistently. No one in the backline this year had a sustained period of shit form so who was he going to push out? |

I was never a fan of the pick (hasn't been that great a draft as of yet though), and while he isn't currently best 22, there is not much we can do but wait and see if he comes on. Don't remember him playing 6 games either! |

Take Ebert's HFF flank role perhaps? |

To be honest I don't see him fitting in the short term. He was drafted when we had a plethora of half back flankers. Downright puzzling decision. We're still pretty strong in that area. Unless he develops some kind of offensive mindset to his game I don't see him getting in to the 22. Maybe as a long term replacement for Andrew Embley |

I can see him as a half back/wing type of player, just a shame we got too many medium sized backs already |

We sure dudded some quality draft picks. I guess we made up for that with last years draft. |

I'd like to see him played further up the ground, rotating between a wing and HFF. His kicking skills would be very handy bringing it into the 50. |
