One of my missions in office is to establish a regional economy, as we are capitalists, after all. To do this, the groundwork must be laid for a successful free-market system. First, a business district must be established. This will give people a clear, defined place to set up a storefront and sell services. These stores would be limited, as no material goods can be created. However, other goods and services, such as newspapers, advice, flags, art and original stories could be sold here and delivered through any number of means. A business district on the forums would also encourage businesses by clearing up ambiguity about their location. This area of the forum could become a landmark and it would make storefronts easier to find. The second step in the process is establishing some form of regional currency. While bartering and favors may work on a small scale, successful economies require money. I know from experience that creating a regional currency is possible; however, I am not certain as to how one is created. For this, I must consult the citizenry of Capitalists. If you have experience in this field, please tell me. Thank you. The details of the economy, such as acquiring money through a salary or posts, or government duties, like taxes, will be worked out later. For our stage now, laying the foundation is enough. I agree with both of you. I'm starting to grasp the whole thing now. |

UPDATE: The website is not, in fact, down. I only had to create an account. This particular system also allows you to choose which features you want to include in your system. It seems very versatile and well-made. |

I sent a message to Daynor yesterday, but he hasn't responded. I wanted to get permission from him first before I install it on his forum. |

If I do not receive a reply from Daynor within 24 hours, I am going ahead with the installation. |

Before we install it, there are some matters that I would like to discuss. First, should a bank be permitted in the region? I believe so. By giving people a place to store money and gain interest, we are helping the economy. Second, should a law be passed in the Regional Council to officially establish the economy and give the government power to regulate it? This one I'm not so sure about. I'm leaning more towards yes, though. Obviously, it would just be minimal regulation to keep things from getting out of hand. Anyone is invited to share their thoughts and answers to these two question. |

1. On the bank issue, I do not want a centralized banking system. I would like us as the regional council to have authority over the currency and maintain the program for it.. We should have private banks that are regulated for fraud purposes. 2. The only economic regulations i support are environmental damages (Which are absent on here) and bad business practices (fraud). I think we should pass anti fraud legislation as a means to "regulate". First things first we have to establish..... 1. A Mint 2. A Business District I'm guessing I and you the president can maintain these two bodies, until our region grows. |

Well, in the United States, the Mint is part of the Department of the Treasury, which is part of the Executive Branch. Of course, this is not a copy of the United States. |
