The Paragon, the People's Hope
Posted Image
The Heluk Family Crest, the current family to hold the Paragon title.

The Paragons have long been the center of Cadish Culture and politics. The idea of the paragon has never once faded from known history. The term, paragon had arrived long before the settlements of the Old Paragonial Lands. It was first used in the Calis tribes of old, they would elect the mightiest warrior of the tribes to unite the people against their enemies.

After the settlement of the current lands, the Paragon was implemented to lead a council to lead the people. However, the Paragons weren't always a symbol of hope.

Zelka Bas' Heluk, a Ferugin Cadish, had taken power in 1550 A.D, dissolving the council and the Provincial Guard, creating the Bas'k Guard, and invoking almost 300 years of civil war with terrorists, the provinces themselves, and basically everyone who wasn't in the Paragon's army at the time.

The Heluk era scarred the Cadish, but every scar can heal. The Tural and Tetra families both had created rebellions, each calling their leaders paragons. Eventually, the illegitimate Heluk family was thrown from power by the Turals. The Tetras had lost their ideals while trying to create a Ferugin free nation.

Soon the Union was born, creating the Senate of Representatives of the provinces, to elect the Paragon and his advisers. (Most Senators go their whole terms without electing a new paragon to power.) The Paragon was restored to its original meaning.

Since the creation of the Union, only 13 paragons have served the Union, 3 being of the Tural family. Most have died while in office, of old age or disease, while only 1 had actually resigned from office after 5 years and only 2 were impeached due to misconduct. Only one paragon was imprisoned by the Consular Court. As of now, there have been two of Heluk family paragons descended from Zelka Bas' Heluk.

Notable Paragon Families:

  • Tural Family
  • Tetra Family
  • Heluk Family
  • Masra Family
  • Velis Family

Orders of the Cadish Citizenry
Currently under investigation.

The Order of Free Knowledge
Posted Image

The Order of Free Knowledge was originally set up by Zelic Bas' Heluk in the Shatter, as an investigative universal power, that would allow the Heluk regime to extend its knowledge and perception within the Cadish citizenry. All Cadishi born after 1550 AD were made to apply for citizenry, and all newborns to be inked with an identification number. The Order of Free Knowledge of the time established a massive credit-tracking system that compelled all Cadishi to give their identification number when purchasing something. The shopkeeper would immediately take their identification number and the date of the purchase. The Order of Free Knowledge was at sometimes accused of being a "corrupt systematic oligarchy, who had their own agenda."

However, today the order is sustained by the Patriarchs of the Heluk family, in order to repay the citizens of the Union of their ancestors' mistakes and corruption. Instead the Order today supports and lobbies for government transparency and democratic sustaining. The Order is always run by the eldest male member of the blood-related family. However if there is no such Patriarch, a matriarch can be chosen as High Marshal. The symbol of the order represents the freedom and access of information. The Arrows represent the ideas and knowledge of the blood of Cadishi citizens, flowing in and out freely of the center of the Union, bypassing the barriers of bureaucracy. The red arcs and the blackened ring represent the flow of knowledge, spreading from those who know, to those who do not.

High Marshal: Benito Bas' Heluk
Chairman of Knowledge: Actin Vas' Balzin
Board of Free Knowledge: 25 members total.

The League of Dahlis
Posted Image

The League of the Dahlis was formed in the 1950s, as a result of growing Cadishi nationalism. Despite the fading provincial view on things, and the growing amount of radical terrorism, the League of Dahlis remains the largest peaceful nationalist Order of the Cadish Provinces. The League's mission is to support the Cadish people, through supporting pro-Cadishi international actions, through the support of the military forces, and through the social aids to one fellow citizen. The symbol does not use the famous Black Dahlis, as the Dahlis represents the Union, but the League instead identifies the passion and blood of the average Cadishi citizen. The Flame represents passion for the Union and its people. The scimitars represent the protection of the people's heart by the Union's defenses. Finally the Sword piercing the center circle represents that all Cadishi are capable of defending themselves, the Union, the Provinces, and the people as a whole.
