Apologies if this has already been posted, but I didn't remember seeing it here. It's from about a month ago, but apparently I missed it: http://www.rotoworld.com/player/nfl/7452/dwayne-allen Colts TE Dwayne Allen said his hip surgery ended up being more invasive than originally thought. Allen was originally slapped with a 3-4 month timetable following his early-October procedure, but he said he's now looking at six months of rehab. He's hoping to get cleared in time for OTAs, but training camp might be more realistic. The Colts will ideally return with a two-tight end set as their base, featuring the beastly Allen in-line and Coby Fleener in the "move" spot. Allen's health is well worth tracking. |

That would really suck if he can't return to form. I'm not sure many outside of Colts fans really understand how good a TE he can be. |

Once he started to get the offense, he looked like a Pro Bowler. Much better hands, route running and blocking than Fleener. |

Well, I guess well see how much the hip effects him. He was never quickest, most agile guy so maybe it wont hinder him much. His hands are probably second best on the team though. |

This says he'll likely be medically cleared in March. http://espn.go.com/blog/indianapolis-colts/post/_/id/4013/waynes-return-is-big-but-so-is-allens Having both Allen and Wayne back, assuming they recover fully in time for the season, will go along way toward solving the offense's problems with stalling sometimes for a quarter or more. |

As long as he's ready come training camp, that's all that matters. He's going to be training and working all off-season anyway, so OTAs aren't really that big of a deal. |
