[Bill] Polian told the Indianapolis Star that he finds it unbelievable that the Hall of Fame selection committee passed up on Harrison.

“In Marvin’s case,” Polian said, “if he doesn’t make it next year there ought to be a Congressional investigations. He belongs in there. I just can’t get my head around [Harrison not making it]. Marvin has to be in there.”

Not too much of an exaggeration, but receivers are being punished by a higher standard in this era.

The voting is messed up. It should be voted by the players past and present also the coaches past and present and not by the media.

I don't know if I'd trust coaches anymore than the media. They're biased and make some head scratching decisions themselves. A combination of all three would be good. Maybe a panel. At this point, I think fans would like to hear/see the logic that goes into it. Some sort of standard they electors are held to.

I agree with both of you. I think all three should be involved. I do think there needs to be a qualifier though or playing or coaching at least so many years, say 4 years.

As if Congress is capable of making any decisions themselves...

They make plenty of decisions. Just no good ones.
