Geoff Schwartz as a FA target? He can play multi positions on the O-Line and is actually viewed as "better" inside. |

Well, he made Asamoah expendible in KC... he'd probably be about the best RG candidate out there if he hits FA. |

I agree 100%! I know there are 5 guys on the line but Mack would make our line 50% better in my opinion. |

I'd take 35% better and the ability to sign another impact free agent, though, if Mack demands top dollar (which he will). |

The reality of football in the salary cap era is that you don't become the best team by signing the best players. You become the best team by having the most talent per dollar spent. Sometimes that's accomplished by signing the best guy available, but usually only if you can do it at a reasonable rate that doesn't hamstring you in the future. I would LOVE to see the Colts sign Mack, but only if we can do it at a manageable rate. I will pull my hair out if we don't get better on the inside of our line this offseason, but that doesn't mean I want to overpay for a center. You don't build a team around a high priced center. When teams are all working on fixed spending limit, the thing that differentiates teams is who can build the most talent for that money, not the teams who have the best guy at any one position(except maybe quarterback, but we can cross that bridge in two years). |

You guys act like this is a total rebuild. It isnt. We need a few stud pieces not a bunch of ok ones. Mack Decker Then More dline help A cb Safety We got plenty of money to fill all those holes and then go bpa in draft. Front load the decker and mack deals both are young all pro level players that you will not find in rd 2-3 of the draft. |

All I know is you can't find upgrades without spending. Especially when you're missing 3 picks in a loaded draft class. Of course you don't spend FOOLISHLY, for the sake of spending...but there's plenty of players hitting the open market who shouldn't enter us into cap hell. I don't need Decker and/or Mack to feel a sense of relief, in fact, quite the contrary. I've named a handful of players that would be great fits in building this so-called "monster". Players who would command similar compenastion to many of the guys Grigson signed last year...and none like the deal Cherilus received. But of course some fans want to WISH the team into getting to the promised land, like we're currently sitting on some dynasty in the making. Sure they've won 11 games back to back, but don't count on the hat trick without an infusion of more talent. At least that's the way I see things. This team can go either way, depending on how they charter their course. Let's not kid ourselves that there's not an abundance of holes to be filled, or the drop may be steep for some to stomach if the talent base isn't upgraded. |

Pass on Decker and use that money on the DL or LB. We got good young WRs, we don't need to be using a lot of money on our deepest position. It is smarter to see what you got in Hilton and Brazill than spending money on Decker when you have more pressing needs. |

He also has some luggage, but maybe he's finally grown up. Here's my list of FA's that aren't top tier players, shouldn't create cap implications and would actually be solid improvements to a team with needs. DE's: Lamarr Houston, Arthur Jones, Red Bryant, Tyson Jackson, Antonio Smith, Alex Carrington. . NT's: Paul Soliai, Pat Sims. ILB's: Brandon Spikes, Daryl Smith. S: Malcolm Jenkins, Chris Clemons. WR: James Jones, Jerricho Cotchery. FB: Vontae Leach. G: Geoff Schwartz, Jon Asamoah, Zane Beadles. C: Evan Dietrich-Smith. Edited by errsay, Mar 2 2014, 05:38 PM.

Yeah. I saw that Schwartz and Asamoah battled it out this year. Surprising, because the year before Asamoah was ranked top ten for guards (LG and RG). But, lucky for us, that battle should help us to get one of those guys for a decent price. I'd be happy with either. Even if it's just for competition with Thornton. I was wondering about him, too. If he's still got gas in the tank, I'd like to see what he could do for us and our RB's. I know the Ravens struggled last year with their run game, but was he a reason why? From the looks of Ray Rice's off-season, I'm starting to think that he wasn't... Edited by BlueKoolaid, Mar 3 2014, 09:53 AM.

I'd take a shot on Leach. Havili isn't really the answer at F.B. Plus, he'd provide a nasty/physical element to the offense, maybe even S.T.'s. |
