One of the Bleacherreport guys is on board with Byrd. It's really going to take a big contract though to get him.

Been saying this for weeks. Now that Grigson had overpayed for Jackson, I doubt that Byrd is in our plans. Maybe if Vontae and Antoine both bolt. Otherwise, I don't see it happening, and that sucks.

The point is moot anyway - Byrd isn't coming to Indy. He'll be in the Meadowlands, Philly, or even staying in Buffalo long before he'll be in Indy.

I am more interested in the D'Qwell Jackson visit this week. At least he'll be in the building.
Nice signing - LB upgrade, tough guy, team player.

They showed him on TV one time sleeping in a hyperbaric chamber that he had in a spare room in his house. It looked like a pup tent and he got into it and zipped it over himself. So I guess that we know that he's not claustrophobic

Good thing since half his games are indoors.

We did overpay for Jackson. What was the rush? I know other teams were in on him, but we had the inside edge. Now we have him through age 34. He'll be good, but a true difference maker? I doubt it.

Byrd was a long shot anyway probably, but I don't get this move. Yes, we needed ILB help. We needed a big, strong LB to help stop the run. We didn't need a slightly better version of Freeman.

Glad we agree on something. I doubt he sticks for 4 years. I'm thinking along the lines of 2, maybe 3. I have a feeling that Grigson at least structured like he did his deals from last year. Front loaded/guaranteed money in the first 2 years.

We did overpay for Jackson.
Not saying we didn't, but that's free agency by and large.

Rumor has it he turned down bigger money elsewhere.

If true, then maybe it's better than it looks and we did take advantage.

Awesome. The fact that he could have signed with anyone right now, ahead of all the other FA's, and knowing that guys like James Jones, who has no connection with us, would prefer to come here over a majority of other places... makes me think that someone has to be doing something right...

Let's see who else wants to join the family...

Read where Pagano has alot of clout in recruiting players. Very well thought of in NFL player circles.
