There's about 3 adequate to good Centers in the first 3 rounds.
So, you're telling me there's a chance... Our future starter is in the draft?

Wouldn't mind getting one, if we can, no matter what we do in FA at the position... But especially if we settle for one of the older guys in Goodwin or Koppen and don't re-sign McGlynn.

Not really. I think that Holmes will be that guy in 2015. At least that is the hope. I would sign a vet to a 1 year deal. Vontae's/Bethea's departure could be imminent as the days pass, and that would instantly be a high priority area. I'm hoping we can patch the Center position with a decent enough vet for a year.

I have zero confidence in Holmes. He looked completely out of his league in his brief time last season. At least Thornton had the size and strength to be out there. I would have more confident looking to Thornton as our starting RG than putting hope in Holmes. I hope he surprises me next year but if we are throwing out opinions then mine is to find a solution somewhere else. We need a good center.

Agree. But unless he's the next Mike Pollak, let's give him another year while signing a capable vet. We're gonna need the precious few picks on at least WR, CB, FS.

Satele's cut numbers are as follows:

Signing Bonus: $1,066,668 (already paid; will count against the cap)
Salary: $3,900,000 (unpaid; removed from the cap)
Workout Bonus: $100,000 (unpaid; removed from the cap)

Total cost against the cap this year: $1,066,668
Total saved against the cap this year: $4,000,000

Again, I have no idea where the $1.7 million figure is coming from.
I'm seeing what you're seeing at spotrac and overthe cap. Any further clarification? Could just be an erroneous media error.

I also used the data at overthecap.com. Same data I think as they tend to match each other. I like having two sites as I can confirm numbers at the other one and vice versa.

Also, overthecap.com is showing the Colts as having just over $38 million in remaining cap space without McAfee's contract.

Yeah, which leaves around 35M or so.
Stephen Holder of the Star listed Satele's cap savings of 4M which makes sense. 1.06 or so in "dead money". Imagine paying him 5M in 2014? Gah
