Antoine Walker did more in that series than Shaq did. Shaq was done at that point in his career. |

Costa is now showing on cap number Overthecap is showing us with $17.05 without only Nicks I assume Nicks will count $3.5 million, with draft picks and money for season should leave us with around over $8 million to spend |

Under the new CBA incentives are placed into one of two categories: likely to be earned (LTBE) or not likely to be earned (NLTBE) Which category they fall in depends on the previous season performance. In the case of Nicks, for example, if one of his incentives is 1,000 receiving yards then it would fall into the NLTBE category because he only had 896 rec yds last year, while if another is that he catches 50 passes then it would fall into the LTBE category since he caught 56 passes last year. At times, an arbitrator will be used to determine which category an incentive falls into. Incentives that are LTBE count against the cap while incentives that are NLTBE do not. This info is according to Ask the Commish.com |

Nicks counts 3.975 against the cap this year Thank you rccolt for explaining for his cap number works Take away the draft and money for season and we have over $8 million we could spend if needed My thinking which is purely guessing, the Colts will now wait till after draft and June 1 cuts to see if anyone is there Unless of course someone falls in their lap Do not see us getting Mack this year unless it is draft day If not than hopefully Mack will not get tagged next year I have very little faith in drafting a center this year. Of course Holmes could work out Edited by cedjss, Mar 18 2014, 06:02 PM.

It's worth noting also, that cap space inside of a certain percentage transfers to next year under the new CBA. It's certainly possible that unless we find someone worth signing, we save it for next year. I think we probably sign a reasonably priced veteran or two though. |

In a heartbeat. We NEED a good center, and I'm positive he's better than any second round rookie we'd get in the draft. |

Mike Chappell has the figure at 13.6 million under the cap. That was before the signings today which likely aren't for much. Edited by Gary1888, Mar 18 2014, 08:53 PM.

Overthecap has us at 13.37. So close to the Star Still have room We got to get more depth at CB and guard Plus a starting center and free safety I think the draft will be geared toward these areas |

Center is in all likelihood on the back burner for now. Maybe Guard and certainly Safety are at the head of concerns. |

I still would like for us to sign Goodwin to a year contract if he is still there The dude is tough, been around a long time and a huge upgrade Than next year go after Mack Than in draft get a safety, more depth at CB, maybe a guard They say it is a deep draft. Maybe Grigson can find a few college FA |

I'd love for the Colts to have a road grading center like Goodwin! |

Last I heard he was undecided about playing any longer. Face it folks, it's gonna be Costa and Holmes battling it out. |

Costa & Holmes ???? That does not solve the problem. We had better look for more QB's. Luck can't remain upright long behind this line. |

Maybe, but he's played every game the last two years. Luck is tougher than your average NFL QB. |

If Grigson didn't think they could do the job, he would have made a bigger play for Mck or even Smith. I doubt we sign another Center, or draft one for that matter. |

I think the Colts handled this offseason pretty expertly so far. I think everyone wishes Vontae Davis got a little bit less money, but look at what the top press corners got on the market, Talib, Revis, Davis, Shields. They got big money, that is the way the market was set. Verner went cheap, but he is a totally different player. Jones and Jackson are both basically two year deals, unless they play well enough for the Colts to want to keep them. Vinatieri was cheaper than I thought, and McAfee is a one year deal essentially with options the Colts can pick up. He can be cut the second he is not a top tier punter and be replaced with a cheap rookie. Nicks is an awesome signing, low risk, high reward. Even if he plays more like the last couple years than he did in his hey-day, he is still a good 3rd receiving option(or 5th behind the TEs). If he comes even close to what he was doing in his prime, that is an absolutely insane WR group. Grigson still has plenty of room to add an OL and a DB when the market calms down. Now, we just need to have a good draft on the defensive side, infuse some cheap young talent into that unit. |
