I wasn't that thrilled about them possibly signing Kurt Coleman, who ended up with the Vikings, but they ended up with a no-name safety from the Eagles anyway - Colt Anderson. This isn't depth, it's a warm body. http://espn.go.com/blog/indianapolis-colts/post/_/id/5240/colts-add-another-safety-to-the-roster Guess he could be a special teams contributor. From Wikipedia: Anderson was signed to a three-year contract off of the Vikings' practice squad on November 9, 2010 by the Philadelphia Eagles.[18] Despite playing at a Pro Bowl level in 2011 as a special teams player, Anderson suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in a game against the Seattle Seahawks on December 1, 2011, leading to his placement on injured reserve on December 5.[19] He was placed on the physically unable to perform list (PUP) for the start of training camp on July 22, 2012. This reminds me of when I was a kid playing Tecmo Bowl. Some of the guys weren't signed to the NFLPA, so they were named based on team (QB Bills, QB Eagles, etc). On the Eagles there was a guy with the last name Feagles. I never understood that it was a real person named Feagles and not a guy that was renamed by the game until an embarrassingly large amount of years later. |

In a related story, Ryan Grigson continued his bewildering trend of signing every Philly Eagle he ever met, by inking Herm Edwards, Harold Carmichael, and Norm Snead to free agent deals. He also ordered that the only food sold at COLTS' home games will be Cheese steaks.

Makes sense though. The majority are players he was involved with scouting and liked. Polian did the same with Carolina Panthers for a while. |

Signing a good ST'er ain't a bad thing, but Grigson MUST come out of this draft with a starting Safety. |

Sounds like if he has recovered from his injury he could be a real nice addition to special teams. Who knows maybe there is some hidden talent there, and that his previous injury was holding back. Most likely completely inconsequential though. |
