I hadn't realized Thomas has played center some and could also help provide depth at the position. Of course we still need more guards, especially if he had to move to center for any length of time.

We can't rely on Thomas to play center. We can't even rely on him to play the position we signed him to play: LG.

He's played 2 games for us. He's just as big a question mark, IMO, as anyone else on the interior of the OL.

I'm not saying he isn't capable of being a good LG or C. I'm saying I can't trust him now. I hope for the best, and hope he can stay healthy and play at a high level, but I'm worried about the whole interior OL. He's one of the reasons why.

Fair point, just noting that he does give us more depth at the position. We still need to pickup another center or guard capable of playing center, but it is something and Thomas doesn't have a lengthy history of injuries. He's usually been the guy filling in for someone who is hurt.

True. Versatility is nice. But like you said: we need more. Him being able handle one spot or another is nice, but that'll still leaves 2 question marks on the interior.

I'm definitely interested in the new guys and the young guys playing. Just not as confident in them as Grigs is, or at least not as confident as Grigs is appearing to be.

Thomas also doesn't have a history of starting 16 game seasons, which is why he's got to be considered a question mark going in to the season. I hope he starts 16 games this year and plays at a high level, but there isn't any evidence that says he will. It's just blind hope. We've got nothing but question marks on the inside of the line, not enough picks to address it, and other positions that desperately need help too. It'll be interesting to see what kind of miracles Grigson works here, but the history of his first two seasons leads me to believe that he'll fill the needs at other spots first, and cobble together a makeshift oline while counting on Luck to make it work.

To be fair to Thomas, really only had two seasons before arriving here. His first three he was a late round pick just trying to stick in the NFL. He has had injuries before though.
