Fourth Round Trade Up?

I feel very strongly that Grigson needs to be very agressive today and somehow acquire a fourth round pick. I realize it's easier said than done, but maybe next year's #3 and 6 gets it done. Teams like the Rams and Niners have SEVEN picks today, and may be more than willing to parlay a fourth from this year into more picks for next year. I know that I would...

In the future I would love to see us work hard to aquire more picks rather than giving them up. To beat a dead horse to death (sorry) But how nice would it have been to have had our first round pick this year. T.Rich can have a superb season and I still don't believe it was worth it to give up a first round pick. Anyway, Having extra picks let's you move around from a position of strength, Teams will get full value and perhaps beyond for the Colts to move up into round 4, They are well aware of who has picks and who doesn't.

I appreciate your sentiments, but I have no aversion to doing both...given the time and place to do so. This is the time to enhance the product WITHOUT giving up a premium pick. Sure picks are nice, but the Pats have done very little in my opinion of cashing them in lately. This is a unique draft and situation, in that it's a GREAT draft and deep with talent. Bottom line is we need HELP in the secondary and lost our longtime safety to F.A. by the way. Couple that with no one presently on the roster that is his heir apparent and a starting L.C.B. that is made of glass. Otherwise, we're in great shape...

Really? I'd be interested to hear who was still available when we would have picked that you'd trade a "superb season" from a running back for.

That's a question that can't possibly be answered objectively for 3 years, minimum.

Well then you can't say that giving up the first for Trent was a bad move until that time.

Either Buccanon or Ward at safety would have been nice to have. The point with Richardson is unless he is an exceptional talent, Which I don't think he is, He wasn't worth a first round pick. With an improved O-line an above average Rb can excel IMO. Overall I think Grigson has done a fairly solid job, I just think he messed up big time on the Richardson trade and sitting and watching the first round go by without a pick was a somber reminder. I really do hope Richardson proves me dead wrong, Cuz that would be what is best for the franchise!!!
