This is really bad if this proves to be true. This is where a team should lose draft pick/s, not because an owner got convicted of a misdemeanor. http://nypost.com/2014/09/20/bombshell-report-ravens-tried-to-cover-up-ray-rice-video/ |

You shouldn't lose draft picks for anything off the field. That should only happen for violations that affect the actual games. However, if this is true, the people involved should be fired. If you can force a guy to sell a team because he doesn't like black people, which, while reprehensible, is still legal, then you should absolutely be able to force a guy to sell a team when he covers up a felony, lies to the fans, uses his power to influence the judicial system and buys people's silence, including trying to stop the public from ever seeing the tape. If covering up a crime and hiding tapes from the public can get a man out of the WHITE HOUSE, then it should be enough to get a man out of the NFL. |

If you are interested in this story, this ESPN Outside the Lines article is a great rundown of what has happened. It's BEEFY, but if you want the story, here it is: http://espn.go.com/espn/otl/story/_/id/11551518/how-ray-rice-scandal-unfolded-baltimore-ravens-roger-goodell-nfl I read most of it; couldn't find anything illegal (other than the assault, obviously). |
