Not to be negative after a blowout win, but D'Qwell Jackson continues to be less than impressive to me. He doesn't tackle well and looks slow. Not one of Grigson's better signings. I'm not unhappy with our lb's, although none of them are could be called great. Jackson seems a step below, however.

McNary could be a keeper. Walden is earning his money now as the only guy getting consistent pressure.

Not a big fan of Jackson either.

He seems to be one of those set the tone with leadership signings.

High character guy. Leader. Tough guy. Set the tone for a hard hitting defense.

But he is no All Pro, that is for sure.

As Jedi noted, Jackson had 10 tackles, 1 sack, and 1 forced fumble on Sunday. Sounds good to me, and who are we going to put in there that'll do better than that?

For right now , I'm thankful that we have the guy, however badly he covers in pass protection.

Jax played very well on Sunday. By far, his best game as a Colt.

People liked/like Freeman for doing less. Freeman does get the occasional INT of FR, but he's out of position often, struggles to keep up with receivers and gets swallowed up by blockers quite easily.
I should add, Freeman and Jackson, or McNary, will work if our edge pass rush continues to improve and we get some legit safeties next year. We have the D-line (when healthy) and corners we need for a top 10 NFL defense. MLBs just need to be decent, edge rushers and safeties have to be much better though.

Not a huge fan of Freeman, myself. Mainly because he gets engulfed too often in the run game. I like McNary much better on blitz packages, not so much in coverage.

All of our ILB have good aspects, but they also all have major flaws in their games. If it wasn't for our Safeties I would say they should be priority number one in the offseason.

Maybe it was one of Jackson's better games, but I still thought he arm tackled too high and is stiff in movement. Maybe just being negative, I dunno. I think our defense really needs a dominant ILB who can lead the defense.

Yeah, that dominant Baltimore D was built around Ray Lewis in the middle and Ed Reed in the backend. We have neither.

A Ray Lewis would be nice, but I'd love an Ed Reed.

That is our biggest obstacle on defense. Up the middle concerns.
