Not sure if anyone here cares (Other than RevColt, I know you do) but I found it odd when a Kansas City Chief was flagged for praying after scoring a TD last night. I watched what he did, and it looked the same as "Tebowing" and a lot of guys were doing that after Tim made it popular. Now the player in question is Muslim, but I don't think that had anything to do with it. The ref seemed to think going to your knees was a penalty, when the league has a religious exception to the rule. http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000000403323/article/nfl-husain-abdullah-should-not-have-been-penalized |

I believe the NFL has since apologized and stated it was wrong to penalize him. Not sure if it was the kneel in prayer or the slide in the endzone that drew the flag, though. |

The player in question took the high road and said he was penalized for sliding on his knees before the prayer. Not sure if that's true or not, but he wasn't making an issue of it. Not surprised the NFL added clarification. They're learning some humility these days. |

The NFL did admit fault, so i'm gonna give them a pass this time. it didn't change the outcome of the game, and hopefully everyone learned a lesson. |

I was watching the game and saw what he did and thought it was odd that they penalized him and thought it was not fair. I also saw his comments after the game and thought he handled it with class. I did not know that the NFL later apologized. I am glad the NFL apologized. I feel like any player should be able to openly express their religion regardless if it is the same as mine or different. The player did not do it out of malice or did he delay the game. It was a bad penalty. |

Embroiled in scandal, players hitting women and children, driving drunk, using drugs, cheating. The NFL needs to be encouraging its members to pray, not discouraging it. |

I don't disagree but then we'd have lawsuits because it was done in a tax funded stadium. Some people have nothing better to do. |

It is sad how many people just completely ignore the "or prohibiting the free exercise thereof" in "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof". Government has no more power to stifle religion on government property than it has the right to stifle it on personal property. Government only has to give equal opportunity to all religions, whether or not a religion chooses to exercise that opportunity should have no affect on the ability of a different religion to exercise that opportunity. |
