For any who care to read some ramblings. Getting beat 28-10 over the last 3 quarters certainly must bolster Houston's attitude towards the next game. We still lack a killer attitude when we get a lead early. After a perfect 1st quarter we seemed to relax and stumble along for the rest of the game. We are pretty spotty against the run. Don't get me wrong, we've improved. However, we still lose a yard or two at the los and lose more one on one matchups than we should. There seems to be a big difference when the team is fired up and ready and when they are just out there. I know, that seems obvious, but you want a defense to have that killer mentality that doesn't allow a team to come back. I will say that on one play I saw Chapman burst through the line and tackle Foster for a 3 yard loss. If the big guy can move like that more often we have a probowl NT on our roster. I still though Davis and Toler played well. Several of those throws to Johnson and others were just terrific throws and timing. I thought Toler was going to intercept Fitz in the endzone and couldn't believe Johnson came down with it. We need Butler back and a good safety besides Adams. Zach Kerr still makes some plays. Really liking this rookie. Werner is playing better than I thought he would. Turnovers are making games that should be easy into nail-biters. Can't make a living doing things that way. Cherilus had the worst game on the o-line, imo. But I haven't broken down the plays or anything. Finally, I thought the catch and fumble by Johnson was a no-brainer. Couldn't believe how Carey immediately said incomplete and how much discussion has gone into that play. Edited by MrCCCs, Oct 10 2014, 10:34 PM.

I do think our play the last 3 quarters was partly the aftereffects of a tough Raven game followed by this game on the road. |

As far as I am concerned the offense gave up as many points as the defense. Need to play smarter and stop with the turnovers. |

The turnovers are what it comes down to. The last two weeks, our turnovers have made a game out of nearly impossible situations. They have come at the most awful times. I also agree about Toler and Davis playing well. I did finally end up watching a lot of the game because i had it on the DVR and Johnson was just being a beast on some very well thrown passes. We DO need Butler back though. |

The turnovers were the killer for the colts in this game because just when the Colts were going to put them away, they gave hope to the Texans. Additionally, I don't understand how the STs could screw up on the FG and line up incorrectly. That should be drilled into their heads not to line up on the center (or at least the coaches should know better if it was a coaching error). What that penalty did was give the Texan's hope. Instead of an insignificant 3 and being down 24-3, they got a big play 7 and were back in the game 24-7. The next series was the tipped pass/interception, which was the second momentum changer. Suddenly, the potential blowout turned into a football game. |

Yes, the O needs to stop making these dumb, quirky turnovers and penalties. And figure out what the heck is going on at the Center position |

I can't believe anyone could think that was an incomplete pass. He took 4 steps with it before the ball came out, and it wasn't moving or being wildly bobbled or anything. He had both hands on the ball, was able to transition the ball into a cradle in his right arm, then after his 4th step it slid up and popped out. To think that anyone who was an NFL referee could call that an incomplete pass speaks to the vast incompetence of NFL officiating. |

Kerr's penalty on that FG was total BS. He was not lined up directly over the Center. |

I honestly couldn't see much difference between Kerr's position there and most of the way I see people line up against field goals. It was a little crowded on that side of the los, but he seemed to be in the gap still. Weird. Of course, I could have also sworn in was 3rd and 6 before and there was an incomplete pass, making it 4th and 6. But I'm sure I'm wrong about that. The whole thing seemed fouled up to me. Kerr's been ok but his footwork has gotten really sloppy at times and he ends up cut out of his gap... And he doesn't exactly have the speed to recover. |

Kerr has been a surprise . Still a rookie and makes mistakes. But he also makes plays. |

Luck's picks have been off tipped balls. That isn't something i see as a major problem, and can be worked on. I also think we let off the gas a little, in hopes nobody got injured. we kept the starters out there to keep the time of posession higher for our side, but i didn't notice the hunger after the first quarter. maybe just a coincidence, but i think they knew they had the win and slowed it down a bit. |
