the criticism which I voiced in the direction of some 2013 FA signings. To be specific: Walden, Francois and Toler. To be sure, all have been outstanding and have really filled the gap left by Mathis and Jones to date. Great to see. Pass the salt...

Agreed on all counts. They've all been great so far this season. Landry remains a disappointment though.

I hated the Toler signing but he's been great this year. Hoping for 16 healthy games from him.

No flak.

Anyone's post can be picked apart by an English professor.

Personally, occasional misuse of a word does not bother me.

It is the long, rambling posts- almost always from haters- that have no point and make no sense that annoy me.

Thank you for the correction. But when I post on a iPhone the keys are so small that I will not go back and correct.
But weatherman you missed Jedi use of their. But who the hell gives a crap. I see more errors in magazines, newspapers, blogs, etc. I try to use correct use of words, commas, etc.
But this is a Colt blog, so all I am interested in is colt info.
Any way great Colt victory. Best quarter of Colt football I might have ever seen. And I have been following the Colts since late 60's

For me the only poor grammar that bugs me is when people say 'apart' instead of 'a part'. They literally mean the opposite of each other. 'I could care less' for 'I couldn't care less' is also very annoying. Beyond mixing up sayings/words that mean the exact opposite of each other I say screw up whatever grammar you want.

The front seven is just one consistent pass rusher away from being just what Pagano and Grigson imagined I think. I'm impressed, after two seasons I thought the front 7 was miles away from where it needed to be, and that really disappointed me considering the focus put on it.

The Colts need Werner to take a big step (looks like he could be doing that), or the need Newsome to develop quickly into a speed rusher off the edge. If neither of those happen, then I would like to see a 1st or 2nd pick next year spent on a true pass-rushing 3-4 OLB who can sit behind Mathis for a year and play on 3rd downs.

I'm already privately drooling at the prospect of landing Justin Houston via F.A.

I've been saying be patient with Toler and Walden. Both have proven to be worthy of their signings and contracts, in my opinion. Walden is on pace for 10 sacks.

I always said that Toler is a very good CB when healthy. It's just that health has always been his problem.

Does anyone know the length of Walden and Toler's contracts?

Walden is 4 years and Toler is 3, IIRC.

TRich is playing much better, You can tell he is really starting to feel comfortable with the Colts scheme. Do I think he was worth a first rounder........NOPE!

Honestly, who did we miss out on? There were some good players picked between our 1st round selection and our 2nd, but I don't think we would have taken any of them.

Deone Bucannon would have been a nice addition IMO. Position of need as well.

Funny thing....that value of a first rounder. How does one put a value on that exactly? I believe the success rate for those picks is at or less than 50% isn't it? So how is a player that is being a valuable contributor on an offensive....dare I say Juggernaut of an offensive squad, is not worth a first round pick?

So is a player taken in the first round suppose to be little better than a player taken in the second round, who should be a little better than a player taken in the third round......etc? From my 40 years of watching the NFL.....it just isn't that neat and tidy, IMO.

If I could choose 4 first rounders for the team I follow, and have the choice of 2 first round successes and 2 failures.....or 1 success, 2 contributors, and one failure. (going by the odds)....I'll take the latter.

I pull for any player in a Colt uniform, but still do not feel positive when they hand the ball to Richardson

Warhorse and IC45 make a great point. I was thinking about this the other day and decided I didnt think he was worth the first round pick still, but they may have just swayed me.

A first round pick isnt a guaranteed home run. Plus, picking where we would have, its hard telling what we would have ended up with. Sure, Buchanon would have been nice, but we needed RB help last year pretty bad. Moreso than we needed help at safety in my opinion. The Colts basically got a sure contributor out of their first round pick who is really young still.

However, I dont think Trich is topped out. I dont think hes hit his ceiling. I think hes been looking better and better every week. Im fully behind him 100%.

I need to eat a little crow in regards to TRich as well, but it has absolutely nothing to do with the trade &/or the 1st rd pick the Colts gave for him. I simply felt that Brown was the better RB last year & that Bradshaw is this year. Actually I still believe that to be true, but TRich is playing much better & to a level that I am comfortable with.

But many fans get way to hung up about 1st rd draft picks. As others have already pointed out, draft picks are far from being anything certain - even 1st rd picks. So anytime a 1st rd pick becomes a solid contributor it is a win. TRich is becoming a solid contributor this year so... I'll take my crow with some Sweet Baby Rays thank you.
