Man I hope so. I really want this to truly be our defense now. I have waited so long to have a swarming, dominating D that can shut other teams down. I know the Bengals were without their best player, but still, we were dominant last week.

Just imagine how good this defense could be with another draft or two. Pagano is doing what Dungy never really did, building a dominant defense without superstars.

Cover-2 sucks unless you have the dominant U.T. Only time that Dungy had that in Indy, was when he landed Booger. Then we saw what difference that made.

Dungy was hired by Polian to compensate for the fact that we spent almost no money on defense and never retained good players. Wasn't really Dungy's fault. Just pointing out that Pagano has been getting that sort of performance out of this defense. Of course they also have spent some money on defense for sure.

More is needed, both in F.A. and in the draft.

Yup, I thought our safety's were really exposed in this game, Couldn't even get over to help in time on some deep throws where that was their primary responsibility. I still think overall we look slow at the linebacker spot as well. Of course having a stud pass rusher would be great as well.

Our MLBs aren't much help either. Freeman doesn't even make the occasional big play now, he just whiffs and/or shows up late.

Our defense played terrible but the worse was lack of pass rush. We had none.
Plus the Colts played more zone today, why?

Blitzes that were ineffective, only made matters worse. Manusky to his credit, tried everything he could. I just don't get being manhandled by a very average O-Line. Sure, Pouncey and DeCastro are excellent, but the other 3 are meh. I just hope that Grigs shows Freeman the door after the season ends. Landry, goes without saying... I think that Newsome was a lone bright spot on defense yesterday, and is starting to improve each week. He looks big too. Gotta find a replacement for Redding too.

WE better replace a RT or Luck will be on the injured list soon.

Maybe put Reitz at R.T. until Mewhort takes over in 2015.

As bad as Cherilus has looked lately, I don't think they'll bench a guy making that much money. Best case scenario, they cut him after the year, but until then I think he's going to be playing unless he's hurt.

Redding has played really well, but he can never stay healthy for long and he's going to be 34 in a couple of weeks.

My guess would be we played more zone because we lost Vontae Davis early on in the game. We lose either Davis or Toler and it affects our ability to play man coverage.

I sure hope the injury to Davis does not turn out to be series.

Our defense has played better at home than on the road this season but yesterday's performance was abysmal. I don't think our D is as bad as yesterday's showing but it does raise some serious concerns.

Manusky started employing more zone coverages because we couldn't generate any pressure by blitzing...plus their best C.B. was out. He tried...
