Should Colts watch out for Vontaze this weekend?

The Panthers players are saying that the Bengals LB Vontaze Burfict took several cheap shots last week in the tie game between the Bengals and Panthers. On one occasion, after Newton scored on a TD run, Burfict grabbed Cam's ankle and gave it a twist.

Later, against Olsen, he did the same thing after Olsen scored a TD.

This guy should be suspended and the Colts better watch out. He apparently is making decisions to actually try and harm players. Why? Is it because he's getting beat? Time to go get some anger management or grow up.

I don't recall who but there was another team that had voiced similar complaints about Burfict after their game against the Bengals. I certainly hope the NFL is at least going to keep a close eye on this guy now. If Burfict ends up injuring a player with a cheap move like this, it will be just another example of the NFL not acting until the public outrage forces their hand.

This is worse than several incidents which have resulted in 4 game suspensions. I'm biased again but we should have no room in sports for this behavior. Mathis was given a 4 game suspension for less damaging behavior.

I saw the one against Olsen when it happened and couldn't believe there wasn't a flag. It was just as bad and more blatant than Vickerson punching Satele's knee last year. It was Newton's surgically repaired ankle as well.

To make it worse, it came close to working on Olsen who had to limp to the sideline but was able to walk it off I think. I agree that suspension is warranted, and you can't claim first offense if he did it twice in one game.

Better not try it against Andrew. Luck is a big man and Vontaze might get hurt. :chairshot:

I couldn't help but remember Ed Sprinkle. I was a Bear fan in those years and listened to the games on radio. Thought you might enjoy the following;

Sirius NFL Radio just stated that the NFL is looking into the Panther's complaints on Vontaze's actions.

Well if hes not suspended, at least he knows hes being watched. Less of a chance he tries this crap against us.

I'm far more confident in Luck's ability to get up from a low-blow like that than i would have with Manning.

Per ESPN, he has been fined $25,000 and has been warned that he is labeled as a repeat offender, so the officials have been apparently told to watch him closely.

Despite the fact that Manning went 13 years without missing a single start?

Maybe I'd be more comfortable with Luck than Manning at this point in their careers but both in their prime?

You don't by chance have any thoughts on the winning lottery numbers do you?

I thought it was pretty funny. Didn't think it would actually happen, but I knew the way he plays, that if he tries to take out Andrew, it could end up with Vontaze getting hurt. I figured it would be more that Andrew would not take kindly to getting his ankle twisted. Kinda of funny it was because Vontaze decided to launch head first into a 6'5 240+ lb QB who is built like a brick building. Not smart.
:rofl:
