Pretty pathetic performance by the D. The offense made their share of mistakes too. Overall terrible day.

Offense made their mistakes, too? Come on. Yes, there was a pick six, but we scored 34 points. This is all on the defense. If you're talking about mistakes by the O-line keeping Luck upright, I get that, but Andrew was amazing today. Am I alone on that, really guys???

If anything, this game proves that we need an elite pass rusher. We can't afford Davis to be banged up at the end of the year or it will be a quick exit. If Davis and Toler can be healthy for the playoffs, then we can help offset this weakness. Several of our sacks this season have been due to the coverage.

I'm not that worried, but I wasn't that convinced by the performance against the Bengals.

Sorry Bent. The offense was outstanding... even the pick six was not Luck's fault/mistake--a fairy grabbed the ball and placed it into the DB's hands. The OL was spectacular cause afterall, Luck threw for four hundred yards. Yea, you are right, flawless offensive performance as they scored 34 points! Really? Come on. Of course they made mistakes too.

But the D was atrocious and this loss is definitely on them. No arguments there.

Luck is a warrior... thank goodness.

You score 34 points, great day
Throw in terrible pass protection by our offense line, just a great, gutsy , tough day by Luck

I hope Davis gets well soon. That would be a huge loss...

Reminds me of when we'd lose a game 31-28 and people would complain because Peyton threw a pick.

This conference is Denver's to lose right now. The defense just needs to be average and we'll be alright. We will be somewhere between a 2 to 4 seed and hopefully play consistently enough during the 2nd half of the season to earn a bye....our schedule is somewhat favorable too...just one road game against a team who has a winning record.

Yeah. We're in the tough part of the schedule right now. 2 more to go. But this was an ABYSMAL performance. I realize that Vontae went out early, but what happened to the pass rush today? Not one PRESSURE that I can remember.

I'm afraid that the blueprint was established today for other teams to go to school on.
Blitz, blitz, blitz...and throw, throw, throw. Until things get rectified, that's what I see ahead. Of course, not every team has the talent to execute this like the Steelers do.

Gosder is regressing rapidly, while Thornton and Harrison are still having issues handling delayed blitzes. I hope that practice does make perfect. This game also illustrates why I hated traded Burley for a mere pittance. Werner was invisible and Freeman is no beast.

Great game for Bradshaw, Moncrief and Hilton. Anyone still doubt that T.Y. is a legit #1?

Moncrief definitely made his claim as Reggie's successor.

Good day for the rook.

As far as the offense, there were some horrible performances and some great ones.

But, still, as said 34 points should be enough to win.

How about some tough questions of the offensive and o line coordinators about the absolute inability to handle the blitzes.

I know its Dick LeBeau and Blitzberg, but come on, that was substandard. Goz and Thornton had terrible games.

I really thought schematically we didn't do a good job of attacking the blitz, I thought we were far too enamored with trying to beat the Steelers over the top vs running more quick crossing routes in the spots were linebackers should have been but were vacated because they were blitzing.

See a lot of offensive line posts here...I say Luck holds the ball waaay too long and hamilton needs to make sure there is a receiver at the 5 to 7 yard mark. Luck seemed to always be looking way down field and saw several times a receiver was wide open short. He needs to release the ball within 2 seconds of the snap and the pass rush is moot. That is what Ben did all afternoon.

Think this game turned on the BS safety call...the ball was clearly out of the end zone when he released it. 2 consecutive BS PI calls also helped to seal the deal.

I watch a lot of steeler games as a good friend of mine is a steeler fan.

The Steelers just played their best all around game in probably a few years. Neither of us could believe how well every single one of them was playing. They literally overachieved in every single aspect and we still pushed them until there was 5 or so minutes left in the game.

Butler doesnt suck either, by the way. As im sure there were people in here discussing how a DB should never ever be beat.

The pass rush was completely neutralized. Half of that is the defenses inability to win one on one blocks and the other half was the fact their offensive line played lights out. Even their RBs picked up every single blitz perfectly.

The defense needs Vontae Davis. If anyone in the secondary annoyed the hell out of me today, it was Gordy. If Davis is in, Gordy is on the bench where he belongs.

It was two extremes today. They got home with nearly every blitz and we got home with none.

Their secondary played about as poorly as ours did. Difference being generated pressure. May be time to bench Gosder and Thornton in favor of Reitz and Louis. Nixon should be returning soon too. Scott makes good point about attacking vacancies, but we did score 34.

We did try some short passes. They knocked one screen down at the line, several of the short crossing routes they immediately covered for short gains. The offense wasn't at all the problem. The pressure on Luck has to be stopped, but even taking all those hits he threw for 400 yards and three touchdowns.
