Pretty obvious after Sunday's debacle against the Steelers that this Colts team is not a serious contender to make it to the Super Bowl. Wow..after shutting out the Bengals how does the Colts defense give up 42 points (9 points on Luck...pick 6 and safety). This Colts D isn't much better than what Peyton had to put up with. Now Luck has to do it all just like Manning. Colts better beat the Giants (not a given) or the Colts will be facing being 5-5 if New England and Brady beat the Colts the following week. Colts will have trouble making the playoffs unless they win the Division and at this point the Texans are still very much in the race to win the Division. Hope the Colts can get their heads on straight for the Giants or the rest of this season is going to be very interesting....and not in a good way. Mike |

True about what could happen, but hard to say anything definitively after the last two weeks. We've seen the highest high and almost the lowest low (could have been worse if we had no offense). |

Well I don't think the sky is falling just yet. Yes we are not as good as we thought we were after the Bengals game, but I also have trouble believing we are as bad as we looked yesterday. We realistically are likely somewhere in between. |

Its hard to say anything about the last 2 games. Some games are won before you step on the field, our last 2 games are perfect examples of that. The Steelers obviously saw things they could exploit in our defense, and they worked. There was really nothing we could do to stop them all day, and it was only drops and bad throws that prevented them from putting up 70 on us. When you have a game like that it doesn't necessarily say anything about our talent level, the Steelers had us beat badly by their gameplan alone. We can and should bounce back nicely. |

This was a bad loss, but the Steelers played their best game in three years and it was still not over (IMO) until the safety. Take the safety away and we go down to score and it is a whole new ball game. At that point we were down by only 8 points and their defense got a pick six. Was it ugly...yes! Are we SB contender because of one game midway through the season? I think you are jumping to conclusions. There is only a 6% chance we make the SB...just like every other team when the season starts and only about a 3% chance we win. We probably are not a SB contender because of the stats, but the game yesterday has no bearing upon the SB at this point. |

Not ready to throw in the towel yet. Safety was BS--the ball was completely out of the end zone when he released it. Take away a few drive extending BS PI calls and the game is much different. Granted, D looked horrible yesterday, I think because they tried the same D they played against Cincy and when it didn't work they failed to adjust. When they dropped into zone the D did much better. Man blitz wasn't working but they did it over and over and over again with the same results. |

The NFL is so week to week that you just can't overreact to great wins and horrible losses, In this day and age every single contender has flaws. Yesterday Pittsburgh came out and was just much more aggressive and the Colts looked a step slow, Especially on defense, We may not like it but it happens. I still think if the Colts can stay pretty healthy that they will make the playoffs and have a very good chance to make some noise. |

As far as I'm concerned, yesterday didn't happen. I'm throwing it out. Our defense is not that bad. There were a lot of blown coverages. I think the Steelers had an outstanding game plan and we didn't adjust. Learn from it and move on. We are ok. We will beat the Giants and then well see what happens from there |

Remember the game when the Jags put up like 275 yards on us on the ground and humiliated us. That was late in the season the year we won the superbowl. There are things to put into perspective: Walden was out, and while Newsome has promise he isn't to Walden's level yet. Maybe Walden only makes one or two plays, but those might stop a drive. Studebaker was also in a lot. I've like Studebaker on special teams, but he was a step slow and not as physically up to the task of starting at lb. At least one instance on 3rd and short he was slow meeting Bell as he came down the line. I believe if Walden had been in he would have diagnosed that quicker and hit Bell in the backfield. As it was, Studebaker hit him at the los and was dragged for a couple yards and the first down. So that was another drive. Davis went down, and Butler played his first game back after missing two(?) games. There were at least 2 3rd down conversions that were a direct result of blown coverages. If even one of those drives were stopped it's a different game. There was a PI call on Gordy when Brown ran right into Gordy, knocked him back, and got the separation to make the reception. Should have been offensive PI. There was also the call on Darius Butler when he made a great play to knock the ball out. Both of these were 3rd down calls that kept drives going, I believe. Arthur Jones isn't a pass rusher. Having him in there was detrimental in this game, I believe. If just a few of these things go differently then we are back to giving up 50% on third down and being right in the game, quite possibly winning it. Not great but not disastrous. We actually ran the ball well and defended against the run well. It just was a night that everything else went wrong. Kind of like being beat by San Diego's punter one year. |

Oh please, the Colts gave Pitt a game even when Pitt played about as perfectly as any team could play. The Colts are going to the playoffs and they will compete at a playoff level. I was wondering how long it would take for someone to bring up how we arent contenders. |

He was in the game. Were you expecting more of an impact? No one on our defense Sunday had much of an impact. |

Another question I would have is who is a serious SB contender at this point? Denver or NE for the AFC? They've had their moments this year where they've looked very beatable. |

A few weeks ago NE was imploding and it was all Billacheats fault for not keeping an oline good enough to protect brady. Now they are wonderously wonderful and brilliant again. |

I think that some people need to step back from the ledge. It's a bad game. It happens to every team almost every year. Our team has been nothing short of great since week 3 on all 3 parts of the game. We had some turnovers and a few bad calls. Our defense got crushed. That isn't going to happen on a weekly basis. Pittsburgh couldn't do that to anyone all year, all of a sudden they can do it to one of the best defenses in the league? Any given Sunday, if you ask me. It happened, i'm ready to move past it. I fully expect us to come out and play HARD against the G-Men, and I expect at least a 2 score win. Colts +10. We destroyed a strong Cincy offense 2 weeks ago (they didn't have AJ this past weekend either, and they scored a ton against a good defense. that's no excuse they can use for the game vs us) Folks need to just give themselves a moment and just watch how we come out. That game was an anomaly |
