Well, with this game being in New York and on MNF, our guys should get a lot of national press this week. Guess it doesn't matter what the final score is, so long as we win, but hate letting them get it close. We've put our starters back in on defense. Edited by Bent20, Nov 4 2014, 12:43 AM.

If we could lock down Beckham, they'd have no offense. |

Manning now with 359 yards passing and two touchdowns. Crazy because he had an awful game up until this quarter. Priceless moment of the night, Lamey calling out Colt fans left in the crowd and says "There is even a #32 Colt Anderson jersey." Then, "Well, that might be an Edgerrin James jersey. Might be." Really? You think, Bob? Hilarious. Edited by Bent20, Nov 4 2014, 12:54 AM.

Is it possible that Newsome is becoming that 2nd pass rusher this team needs without Mathis? I mean it is obvious he is already filling that role currently, but I mean a long term answer at one of the OLB spots. What a dream that would be, finding him late in the draft. |

I think there are a lot of late round picks every year where if they could get real playing time, they'd stick in the league. I think Newsome definitely helps, but I can still see us going for an OLB pass rusher in the draft. |

I want the Colts to get a playmaking safety first. Solidify the back end of the defense. |

Safety of course, but this team needs a quality ILB BADLY. A Guard wouldn't hurt either. |

We need a pass rushing OLB We need at least 1 safety Will we need another Guard or center in draft ? More meat on defense line, Redding might retire Sign Justin Houston as free agent , hopefully chiefs will not tag Pick best safety in draft that we can |

Mewhort figures to replace Gosder one day soon. Houston would be an awesome guy to sign...and would give us an incredible rotation of OLB's with Mathis, Werner and Newsome. Letting Freeman walk, while D. Jax is undersized and aging..presents a more compelling area of need. I love what Sergio has shown and would benefit even more from a Free Safety type via the draft in the very early rounds. Another stout D.E. and more interior O-Line help is obvious. If Redding retires and if we cut Landry and Walden for instance, we could be serious players for Justin Houston...whose replacement was drafted by K.C. last year. |

I wouldn't mind having Walden back, but we already overpaid him before, so it's not likely he'll be content. Really, our areas of need haven't changed. |

Walden still has 2 years left on his contract. He signed a 4 year, 16 millionish contract 2 years ago. I'll be surprised if they cut him, honestly. This regime loves to sign free agents, but they seem to prefer the middling type players. It would be a huge surprise for me if they pay big money for someone like Houston. I'm all for it, I just don't think it will happen. Can you imagine our defense with Mathis and Houston getting pressure with our corners back there? |

Funny cause I told my little bro I haven't worried about a kick returner (Whalen) since Terrance Wilkens. whalen is horrible and is absolutely no threat to break one. With Wilkens, it was the fumble I feared, with Whalen, poor field position and the fumble, since he is not good at the return, is bound to happen at the worst possible time. Was at the game Monday night and just got home. After reading this thread the game was evidently as ugly as it appeared live. Luck threw the ball badly and the D, although they held them for nearly the entire game, gave up some really big plays. Not the same team we watched games 3 through 7. Steelers must have really rattled the team. Thanks to the Giants receivers for dropping so many passes. Edited by Weatherman, Nov 6 2014, 09:36 PM.

Luck might not have been on early, but the guy still played extremely well against both the Steelers and the Giants. Maybe the team was rattled but hard for me to understand any criticism of Luck's performance when he's being asked to throw the ball so much and is delivering, putting together one of the best season's ever for a QB and on pace to break Peyton's record for passing yards in a season. |

The Colts have a lot of money over the next two years that needs to be invested in resigning players. Both Walden and RJF have earned their money this year, but the Colts can save about 9 million dollars against the cap by cutting those two players. I think we have young players on the roster that can replace both of those guys, and they can always add some other reinforcements on cheaper FA contracts. You can probably add Landry to the list as well, although there isn't a ton of money to be saved by cutting him this offseason, next offseason they can save big time. |

Whalen is averaging 25.3 yards per kick return (ranked 10th). The last time we had someone average 25+ yards per kick return was over 12 years ago. (ESPN stats don't go far enough back) I understand he isn't really a threat to break it for a TD, but I view kick/punt returns for TDs to be more of a bonus than anything. He is consistent though. |
