Phillips, who is signed through next season, had just two sacks in 11 games with the Titans, so he’s hardly been an impact player this season. Phillips did have 10 sacks last year with the Broncos, so a return to a team with postseason aspirations could be a boost to his productivity.

I like it, maybe he has something left in the tank. We just need him on passing downs.

Could be a good move, but hope it doesn't cut into Newsome's playing time.

Ditto. Always liked him. Let's see what he's got in the tank.

Other odd roster move: Purifoy cut, Jalil Brown re-signed.

That's a shame. I thought Purifoy looked good Sunday. He'll likely clear waivers though and end up on the PS. I'm guessing that's what the Colts are counting on.

Seems that it may be an off-field issue according to Holder...

Then that really stinks. I think we need to stop trying with these guys who come in with off field issues. Rodgers, Rainey, now Purifoy, if true.

Im fine with giving guys like that a shot. You never know when one will work out and be a monster. I was hoping Da'rick Rogers would snap out of his immaturity.

As long as we don't waste too much time and money on projects, then it is a low-risk high-reward potential. Nothing wrong with trying a few out like that, like IronPony said. But generally very few change their habits. It helps to have a strong charisma-based player leadership that can lead them in the right direction. I don't know if we have that.

Wasn't Purifoy in the car when Rodgers got stopped?

I don't think that this says much for the current Colts pass rushers.

Reminds me of the year Freeney got hurt and we brought in Simeon Rice. He lasted two games. Hopefully Phillips has more left in the tank.

The Loucheiz Purifoy era is over in Seattle before it could begin.

The Seahawks waived Purifoy on Monday after failing a physical with the team. Seattle had claimed him off waivers from the Indianapolis Colts on Friday.
