No hindsight used here, at least on my part. I was questioning the trade from day one. For most of his time here I have been his biggest critic. |

A running back is never worth a first pick in this era. |

I was against the trade from the get go as well. I realize we were in a bind at Rb, That said, You simply cannot deviate from your long term plan and make a "knee jerk" trade of a 1st round pick. I don't want to say NFL calibre running backs are a dime a dozen, I will just say you can find capable backs pretty easily on practice squads or waiting for phone calls, With T. Rich the Colts got a capable back that they gave up a 1st round pick for. Earlier this year a few posters defended the deal saying that draft picks were overrated and they can easily be a bust. I put a high value on 1st round picks and like to think in the least you should be able to get a quality starter out of most of your 1st round picks, With the needs at safety and O-line I believe that 1st round pick was quite valuable. Bottom line is IMO mgmt blew this one big time, What's done is done, Just hope a lesson was learned. Also, The somewhat scary thing is that plenty of tape existed on T.Rich, I really wonder what Grigson thought he saw that made him think T.Rich had 1st round value. Hell at this point in time I would feel like the Browns had got over on us if we had given up a 4th round pick. |

I agree for the most part, but if you could get a Matt Forte or Adrian Peterson style talent that could be an every down back (talented runner, good receiver out of the backfield, and can pick up the blitz effectively) who has the ability to be a workhorse (not needing to take many plays or series off to remain effective) I think a late round 1 pick could be justified. |

I'm curious to see what Richardson does Sunday. He's motivated playing the Browns. For some guys, I'd like that. Maybe it's the boost they need to get over the hump. With Richardson though, it could mean he tries to force/press things, which usually doesn't work well for him. "I don't want to say it's a revenge game, but it's going to be a lot of emotion put in this game," he said. http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/11973867/trent-richardson-indianapolis-colts-looking-forward-facing-cleveland-browns And then there are these quotes where he just seems delusional: "People have just been stacking the box," he said. "I haven't been getting the look I was getting earlier in the season. Now that Ahmad (Bradshaw's injured) people have just been counting on me to run the ball. I haven't been getting all the same looks as everybody else. "When it comes down to it, I want to say I've been doing my job because every time I go in and (we) play-action, somebody's wide open. If they're trying to stop me and Andrew Luck is having a good day or Boom (Herron) is having a good day, I'm doing good because they're distracted by me and they can't stop the other guys. I'm doing my job." http://www.indystar.com/story/sports/nfl/colts/2014/12/03/colts-coach-chuck-pagano-stands-behind-struggling-trent-richardson/19851079/ Edited by Bent20, Dec 4 2014, 12:27 PM.

Richardson had 7 carries for 30 yards today. Above a 4 yard average, so not bad. BUT Herron was in at the end of the game. Think that said a lot about who the coaches really consider the no. 1 back. Not that it matters much since we hardly run at all. |

Well 4th and inches with the game on the line, we ran, and we didn't run with Richardson. |

Herron has performed better. He made a hell of a play on that run too. Im not sure Trent would have done the same. |
