Colts vs. Carolina

I think we all pretty much agree this will be a tough game. This is a game where we do actually have to stop the run if we are going to have a chance. Carolina runs the ball very well and more often than any team in the NFL. The "improved" Colts run defense is allowing 123 yds. per game on the ground (about 10 yards per game more than last year) and are coming off consecutive games in which the run defense played poorly. It will be interesting to see what Manusky comes up with.

It would be helpful if the Colts O could put up some points with a couple long/time consuming drives.

I think our defense matches up pretty well with their offense. TY will have a tough time with Norman and Thomas Davis can lock up a TE (as if we would ever throw to one). Kuechly is everywhere. Their DT's will eat up our o-line.

Pretty good matchup talent-wise, but our coaches suck balls so it won't be close.

Agreed Moner....the coaching staff is starting to act like they are "dead men walking". They will have to have something special on offense to win this game. IMO, they need to show more of Gore and less of Luck.

I think the run defense has been acceptable this year. The stats say otherwise but I think they are skewed by the fact the Colts have been defending the pass in the last two weeks vice defending the run.

What's the record for consecutive games without a 100 yard rusher? Are we close? Do we already own it?

I think our run defense is suffering because they're getting left on the field for long stretches. Nothing has changed in this regard since the Polian/Dungy/Caldwell era. When our offense is moving the ball, our D plays much better, when we keep failing to convert third downs things eventually spiral out of control on defense.

Gore should already have several 100 yard games this season. It's pathetic!

Well, we can give the ball to Gore 30 times in THIS game and he probably wont get 100 yards. Panthers defense is pretty damn stout.

With that said, this will DEFINITELY be the game Gore gets the ball a lot because Pep is awesome.

Should have been in the last game, but I'd like to see a game where Gore gets 20 carries and Bradshaw gets 10. Maybe throw in five for Tipton or Robinson, too. Just try it and let's see how we do.

After last game Pagano said we abandoned the run too soon again. Not sure why he didn't mention that to Pep during the game but I do expect Gore to get 15+ carries this game and the Colts will try to establish the run. This is another game in which the Colts are playing a bit for pride after an embarrassing performance last week. Considering it is also MNF, I expect to see them come out playing hard. I hope they are also efficient and can sustain it. If they do it could be a close game.

I'm more concerned with our run defense. Unlike others, I don't like that matchup at all. This might be the best running team we've seen so far and they are committed to the run. I suspect we will be playing seven/eight in the box to slow it down and will be vulnerable for some big plays in the passing game.

It will take a good 60 minute effort with limited mistakes if we are to win this game. Something we have not seen for awhile.

We need Geathers back to help against the run. Has anyone seen any updates on his status?

Expect more pass happy Pep Monday. He just comes right out and says it.

For some reason I was never an Eric Dickerson fan. Don't know why, just wasn't. BUT, here is a time when our Colts actually stuck to the running game.

I predict the running game disappears late in the 1st quarter down 14 points.

Peanuts bit on Fox today and they had Snoopy take a shot at the Colts. Not really that clever, Lucy pulls the ball away on Charlie Brown and Snoopy says "Did the Colts draw up that play." What bothers me about it is just how many shots are being taken at the Colts now. Are some deserved? Sure. Is it reaching a point of showing there is an underlying dislike for the team? I think so.

Is this the game where we turn things around?
It all depends on Luck performance
Just a shame we have coaches that are just not very good
Maybe Luck can overcome all if this and have a great game

Rain seems to help the running game. Be nice if the Colts had one.

Disagree...depends on Pep Hamilton's performance. Have to see if he can be patient enough to stick to the run.

Another kick returner, another muff. I'll give him a break through. First real game and bad conditions.

Will be a low scoring game in a likelihood with teams struggling to score due to conditions and we give it to them at the 24.
Is Pagano even trying to coach this team at this point? Don't know how you'd tell anyway.
