That's what I thought also so I looked it up. He missed 3 games last year. I'm guessing it's when Luck was injured also. |

Enjoy the rest of the game. I have to work early in AM and am going off-line. At least the Colts get the ball to start the half. Score a TD and that should be enough....I hope... Edited by NEcoltfan, Dec 5 2016, 10:56 PM.

I mean... it's like Doyle'a first career boneheaded play. Plus we're up by 21. Kinda hard to get too upset at Doyle. |

Are we doing more 7 step drops tonight, or just blocking better? Luck looks like he has time to actually set and throw. I can't remember seeing him drop so far back on a regular basis. |

Domination. Should be 38-3. New Jets QB. Are they already throwing in the towel? Jets should hire the guys who tackled the streakers. Wow, Trent Cole made a play for once. Edited by Bent20, Dec 5 2016, 11:28 PM.

Glad I took the night off of work to watch this one, lol. Solid performance from the boys in blue. Impressed that the team came out ready to play and never let up, something we have not been known for in the Pagano era. We either come out flat or take our foot off of the accelerator after getting a lead. Here's to keeping this trend up. On a side note the injury bug hasn't left the club as Goode suffered a concussion and DQwell Jackson suffered a neck injury during the game. Edited by Bodey, Dec 6 2016, 12:58 AM.

I think most teams suffer at least a couple of injuries every game. I really don't think we're as unique in the injury department as we might think. |

I must be having a brain freeze..... I don't understand that rule at all. Why does the defense get rewarded for the offense fumbling through the endzone? Seems like they would give it back to the offense at like the 20..... I don't really get it. |

I think the idea is to prevent the offense from fumbling the ball close to the goal and then batting the ball out of the end zone in order to prevent the defense from recovering the ball. Ever see Super Bowl V? I still remember seeing this play and screaming to my father why the Colts did not get a TD. Same rule in place at the time. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6eqqIj8AFQc Time 12:12 |

I tend to agree, I think it should be treated the same way as fumbling it out of bounds anywhere else on the field.
In my opinion, that is not a valid reason for the rule. Knocking a fumbled ball out of bounds so the defense doesn't get it seems like a perfectly valid strategy to me. I also think there is nothing wrong with the center running downfield like a WR. The NFL, and football in general, is full of procedural and inconsistent rules that really should be gotten rid of because there is no real valid reason for them. If anything getting rid of a lot of the procedural rules the offense has to follow would allow offenses to become more creative, and make the game more enjoyable to watch. It would cut down on the flag fest that games sometimes turn into. I see no reason why an offensive player flinching should be a false start if they reset before the snap and don't draw the defense offsides. |
