I used to always start a hockey thread on the old Coltpower, so why not here? Any other hockey fans out there? After a long period of darkness, my team is finally emerging into the light. Go St. Louis Blues!!!

I keep trying to get into it, but with no local team, it's hard. One year I decided to be a Preds fan, but still never watched a game. :)

Yeah I was born in Northern Ontario, Canada. A true canuck! I live in the nation's capital now, but I wear my colors just like any other Canadian.

Fan of Ottawa Senators, Montreal Canadians, Edmonton Oilers. How about yourself?

Lifelong NY Rangers fan. I actually like hockey alot more than football.

Right now, Penguins are on fire.

BTW, how did the Oilers let Jeff DesLauriers get away to L.A.? I thought he was their G of the future.

DesLauriers was expendable in their eyes, I suppose. I was surprised myself

The Blues have been playing outstanding hockey under Ken Hitchcock. Their defense and goaltending have been pretty solid and consistent. Their lack of offensive production has me worried heading into the playoffs though.

True that Bluz, we need to get Steen and McDonald back in the lineup, quickly. But We are in good shape going forward. Defense and Goaltending wins championships, so lets se what shakes out. Would nice to finally win the Cup in ol St Louis

D'ags too. He contributes. How 'bout Sobotka? Man, I love that guy. Undersized....but talk about a motor! That guy never quits and can definitely skate. I am liking what I am seeing from Jaden Schwartz as well. Welcome to the NHL, rookie! He seems to have very good "hockey smarts". Seems to be in the right areas at the right times, which Hitchcock himself said can't really be taught. Just good "hockey sense". Glad to have another Blues fan on the board!!!!!!!!!!!

Since I cheered for the Hawks in the Cup finals vs Philly, I fully expect your support this year as well after the Hawks are eliminated. :D

Nice tandem in goal, so that they could even trade Big Ben with no trouble.

Always liked J.D. from his Rangers days

Grew up playing hockey; house leagues, travel teams, high school hockey. Played up until a few years ago (pick up) but think I'm getting too old. Was carrying the puck one handed with a defender to my left, he tried to poke check the puck and I stepped on the blade of this stick, went down hard and hurt my elbow pretty bad (old elbow pads). Swollen and sore for about two weeks and haven't played since. Was going to play again this year but pick up nights are Sunday and Wednesday -- Sunday night football and bowling night. My playing days are probably done now.

Used to be a Blackhawks fan, years ago. Had a 13" black and white tv in my room and mom would let me stay up to watch sunday night hockey. I think NHL center ice kind of took the fun out of watching because it's so difficult to find a game, but I do watch playoff games fairly religiously.

by the way, love your icon :D

the Hawks dominated the play last night, Blues looked out of sorts for some reason, but still pulled out a point.

It's a plus, and a sign of a good team, when they can pull out a point against a tough opponent even when they don't play up to snuff

It should be. Pretty excited to go. A friend called with a free ticket, so I had to say yes. I have my playoff tickets and I'm ready for that. Only 3 games left in the Blues regular season.

Can you watch the Blues on Fox Sports Midwest? I have some other friends in IN that tune in to their games on there. Should be a good one tomorrow night!

I like hockey, just never could latch on to one team as a rooting interest. Because of a from from Detroit, I did follow the playoffs pretty closely a few seasons ago when the Wings were the thing. I pay attention during the playoffs, but have a hard time following too closely through the regular season without an allegiance to some team.

Pens-Flyers start tonight. It's going to look like rugby on ice, may be the most vicious series in the playoffs this year.

That might go to the Redwings-Predators series. Since the Blues are in the Central I am very familiar with both of those teams and knew it would get nasty. I can't concentrate on anything today due to tonight's Blues-Sharks game!!!! Tickets in hand, ready to go. I think it is on CNBC nationwide if anyone would like to tune in.

Blackhawks just a screw up away in OT of Game 1 from being up on Coyotes 2 games-to-none. Another great, last-second goal to send it to OT last night. Put it away in OT this time and now gain home ice vs Phoenix.

Hawks missed about 2,000 chances in first 8 minutes of the overtime period. If they had lost that game, I think it would've be a dismal drubbing the next 2-3 games.

Good win for the Hawks. That is going to be a great series I think! Blues looked good after a so-so first period.
