Hughes is defensive MVP of this game, I think. He's been that good.

I'll tell you: Harnish throws a prettier ball than Peyton ever did.

He's gonna have to throw a few thousand more before I could agree with that.

Pony, Hughes looks good yet again. Has at least 1 sack so far and i think Nevis had one where Hughes was putting on the pressure

TOP Colts commentary vs Steelers commentary since Luck went out. 24 minutes Steelers to one minute Colts.

Looks like we have our main rusher then. Havent seen enough of freeney and mathis to see how well theyre transitioning.

As it stands, Hughes is our most experience LB in a scheme like this.

Mathis left early with a shoulder strain tonight. Guessing it was precautionary. Freeney wasn't in long either.

Bad pick there by Harnish. Glad he's getting some playing time here though.

This is how Luck is. Last year, Luck threw a pick six against USC late in the game. He went right back to work after that and won the game.

Knee strain, I think. Can't remember for sure what they said. Either way not looking good that he's been hurt early in back to back games.

Ya i heard a few guys went out. Redding and Collie scared me.

Lamey was freaking out on the radio about how the steelers put a knee on the back of his head unnecessarily.

For Collie and Redding, I'd be good with resting them the next two games, assuming they don't have lasting injuries.
Collinsworth suggesting we should let them score so we can have a chance to win a PRE-SEASON game. Ah yes, the NFL back and so are the idiots in the broadcast booth.
We almost blocked it. Got a hand on it. I like Brown. Hope the kid can make the team. Shirley and Brown leap over the blockers and almost get it.

Only the Colts can get a hand on a field goal kick and have it still go in.

57 Brown very impressive on the last drive and nearly got a FG block

Love Collinshit and the play-by-play guy. To paraphrase: "Luck didn't look great tonight, but he did well coming into this hostile territory." Whatever, he looked damn good and drove the ball nicely. As someone else here noted, we won the first half against their starters. But that's fine, let the fools at ESPN and NBC miss what those of us paying attention saw. We could have defeated the Steelers on the road in an actual game. We were that competitive tonight.

Solid game and not just the last drive. We have some good LBs and decent DTs and DEs.
And ESPN shows a statistical Peyton vs Luck comparison. Idiots!

I still think Addison plays with more strength and attitude, but Hughes looked much better tonight. He looked like he was imposing his will rather than getting pushed around. Good to see. I wouldn't go near the optimism of starting lineup, but he did better.

Luck did great again. He's got to watch those outside throws, though. He should have had one picked last week, and had a pick 6 this week. All part of it, though. Can't complain a bit about how he is doing. I thought he was crazy to try to run it into the endzone. Made my heart stop. I couldn't care less if he made it or not, but the thought of him going down even for a couple of weeks would be devastating right now.

I will say this, though. For the first time in a decade it looks like we have backup qb's that can come in and not totally suck.

I bet Peyton is wondering where the pass protection was while he was here. The o-line did really well tonight. Still think Olsen deserves a starting role. He blasted Keisel tonight.

The sack and some other QB pressures were nice but I was impressed with how he chased down a few running plays. Obviously the OLB role is suiting him.

Jerry Hughes was a bad draft pick for us two years ago. It was mentioned then, and I still think it is true. The last two years I would watch him in camp and think he is doing great. I even said last year in my report of camp that I thought he was the best defensive players we had during drills. He was doing great, but it never materialized in a game. The reason is because he did not fit our system. He was a bad draft pick. I think his fortunes have turned because of the 34, but if not he probably would have been cut and wound up being a Charger, Patriot, Raven, or Steeler. Or worse yet....a Titan! He would have a great career and we all would have been scratching our heads. The fact of the matter is the pick by Polian was off. It will wind up working for us, but it was not a good pick by Polian and the brain trust at the time. I am just glad we will be able to utilize his talents and he will not go to another team and become a star.

This was a good game for Luck from a learning standpoint. The Steelers are and always are one of the best Ds in the league. LeBeau didn't throw everything at Luck but he threw enough. Luck handled it all well and a little adversity makes for a good learning experience.

RE: Ross. Why was a WR blocking on punts? I could see him being a gunner, although I'd prefer a safety or cb, but a blocker? I just don't see that. Put a TE or RB in that role.

That 53 yard figgie by AV before halftime was a Heinz Field record.

It would have been a good pick if he was able to play where he always has.

Kind of stupid, actually REALLY stupid to draft a guy and immediately force him to play out of position. HOWEVER, I am not going to complain about having him, thats for sure.

Andrew Luck is 14/17 for 159 yards after the first interception.
and one of those 3 incompletions was Hilton's juggling of what would likely have been a TD pass.

I'm impressed with Luck's maturity and how he is handling blitzes. You really don't see that from a rookie.
