![]() Current Estimated Cap Room: $43 Million Biggest Colts' 2013 Unsigned Free Agents:
Top NFL 2013 Unsigned Free Agents: http://nfltraderumors.co/nfltr-features2013-nfl-free-agents/
Some of these guys are bound to get franchised (Clady, Smith, and Flacco for sure). Big year for wide receivers. If we could land Bowe or Jennings, that would be monstrous. EDIT: Just throwing this into the first post after I combined the topics. -IC45 Edited by IndyColt45, Jan 7 2013, 12:39 PM.

I wouldn't mind seeing Jairus Byrd in a shoe. Bowe or Jennings at a discount as well |

It's not really about who we want, though, as much fun as it is to dream. It's all about who Chuck and/or Grigs wants. That's what I'm most interested in now. Especially considering we're not gonna have nearly as high of a draft pick as I originally thought we would. Is there someone on that list they want? And if there is, who is it and how badly do they want them? Edited by BlueKoolaid, Jan 7 2013, 11:03 AM.

http://www.footballsfuture.com/2013/fa/track.html is a decent tracker. Give me OLB: Paul Kruger or Connor Barwin CB: Tracy Porter WR: Greg Jennings OT/OG Branden Albert RT: Phil Loadholt I'm sure we'll not go for any of them, but its nice to dream, i do hope they also sing up Jerrell Freeman to a long term contract, guys a keeper. Also I think in conjunction with having all of this salary cap space is the fact that we have NO real free agents of note that we have to resign. Sure we have Dwight Freeney sitting there as a big name, but I don't think we are interesting in resigning him. I think having all of this salary cap space, combined with no big name players we need to spend big money on puts us in great shape. My one wish is that we don't overreact like a kid in a candy store and just go nuts signing overprices guys we don't need. GReg Jennings and TRacy Porter would be 2. Porter has been hurt all year, with concussions, I dont' want to spend money on another AUstin Collie. Jennings is good but older and I'm actually happy with the receivers we have. Hilton is fast and can stretch the field, Wayne is a star, Allen needs to become more involved in the gameplan. I dont want to spend money on a receiver when our o line is in such bad shape. |

I'd kind of like Bowe in place of Avery, keeping Hilton in the slot, with a solid rotation of 3WR/2TE sets. That's only if Bowe doesn't draw much interest, though, and is affordable. Also wouldn't mind throwing a little money at Ed Reed. Might seem a little short sighted, but screw it. We made the playoffs this year. Who's to say we can't make the SB next year. Reed might even come cheap, considering his connections with the Colts (Pags/Reggie). There I go dreaming out loud...... |

I like the way you dream. I also would love to have Kruger. The addition of Reed and Kruger both would easily make our defense better. |

I agree, 43 million plus Freeney's contract is an amazing amount, and the Colts don't have to go nuts with FA. I just think that everything starts with the OL, and Grigson/Pagano know that. I do believe that Indy is going to be an attactive place for FA's to want to go to. |

We need at least two legit offensive lineman, plus a fairly early draft pick spent on one. Other than that, Grigs and Pagano can do whatever they want. I'm guessing they will be looking a lot at the defense. |

I would argue that McAfee is our biggest unsigned FA. And maybe even Freeney as number 2, even though I know most people are ready to see him gone. I don't think there's much chance at all we see Collie or Powers back. |

Jennings isn't THAT old. He's only 28. His injury wasn't something that will slow him in the future. I'd love to have him. I'd much rather have Bowe, though. Really would love to have Luck throwing to a big WR, especially in the endzone. |

Agreed. Pat is #1. And if Freeney stays at a discount, I'm for it. But it has to be a MAJOR disount. And he has to know he might not even be #1 on the DC anymore... |

Freeney seems to be a pretty astute businessman, he's going to go for the money. Unless he takes/they give him a Reggie type deal, he's gone. I haven't given up on Collie yet. I can see him him coming back in a new, incentive type deal. |

I can't believe anyone would say Austin Collie is our biggest free agent. The guy is probably going to retire in the offseason. What lazy sportswriter thinks he's our top free agent? If he does try to give it a go next year he gets a 1 yr deal at the vet minimum, possibly with some incentives written in in case he can stay healthy, but no way does he get a big free agent contract. Powers is the same way! Both Vaughn and Butler have outplayed him, and he's always hurt! Neither of those guys is even on our list of players to keep, much less coveted by another team. Just don't overspend, particularly for someone who is on the downside of their career and will cost more just because of their name. |

Yeah Pat'll stay, at the very least he'll be franchise tagged, punters only costs a mill and a half-ish. It'll be interesting what we do with people like Butler and Avery, Avery disapeared for stretches last season, but i think we need another Vet WR, next season reggie will be a year older and as good as TY has being id be nervous relying on just him and Brazil. I dont think the guard class is very strong, FA wise, i think we address that in the draft. |

Has a punter ever been franchise tagged before? I know some kickers have. I'd rather have Mike Wallace than Jennings or Bowe. Wallace was becoming a star in Arians' offense. Not sure that I'd want the Colts splurging on a receiver this off-season anyways though. There's no point until we have a line that can pass protect. |

Rumor has it that the phins are going to make a run at Jennings. He has ties to Philbins offense from GB, and the dolphins have cap space and a clear need for a #1 receiver. I like Jennings and would love to have him for the right price, but definitely don't want to get into a bidding war for him. I also like Bowe and Wallace, but for any good receiver the caveat is can we get them for a decent price. I don't really want to overpay for a vet receiver. I'd rather overpay for a vet olinemen who would be overall cheaper, and draft an up and coming receiver. |

Another FA tracker, sortable by position: http://www.spotrac.com/free-agents/nfl/ Nice find on the FA tracker Kruger, Albert and/or Loadholt were on my radar too. Porter has seizure issues so is 'iffy' in my book. Jennings is older than I would like but good. Will be interested to see if the Colts pursue a WR2 in FA. thats a much better tracker :d Yeah i only picked Porter because hes probably the best cover guy you could get on the cheap. i'm not big on overpaying for Corner help, unless you can rush the passer WR's in this league will get open, get ya pass rush sorted and corner will take care of itself. Looking at it again shows theres not too many good guards out there :( and thats a huge need for us. |

For the 1st time in many years maybe ever since the salary cap . I feel like a kid in a candy store with a pocket full of money.By the way Loadholt maybe a good run blocker but he is terrible at pass protection.

Need a big WR (Bowe) and OLB's (Kruger, Barwin) to make this D go. I'm thinking that Irsay makes a major splash with signing Wallace, who's gone in Pittsburgh. Agree we don't need retreads. Also don't get all the love this year for Freeman. If you watch the tape closely, he gets handled as often as he makes tackles. Downfield. Overrated. |

also he'll most probably be available since Baltimore has to deal with the Flacco situation, probably franchise tag him and with a vet team theyre usually close to the sal cap, also factor in the ex ravens links, and how much the baltimore guys seem to love Pagano, i think if the colts want him we'll get him. Not sure about Barwin, i'd rather not take Texan guys ( would make me feel like Jags/titans fan in the recent past..;) ) and Houstan might beable to resign him. |

I'd like to see a safety signed to upgrade and add depth. Byrd and Goldson may be overpriced, but that still leaves Laron Landry, Louis Delmas and Patrick Chung. In case we dont draft a good one. If Chicago DT Henry Melton would be interested in playing DE in our 3-4, that might work really well. KRuger would be great, Levitre would be a major upgrade at OG, even if he isnt great. I could see Rashard Mendenhall being brought in for depth. |

I believe I heard somewhere that Clady already turned down a 50 million dollar offer from Denver to extend his deal. And for whoever was dreaming about Ed Reed, he was asked on his show if he would be recruiting him to the Colts and he said he definitely would and also mentioned he Reed and Pagano being together again. Query said he was going to put it out on Twitter that Reed was coming to Indy to team up with Reggie and Pagano...Reggie told him..."Do it". |
