Since the Draft is essentially only a few weeks away now it seemed like a good time to throw up a thread where we can post Draft related stuff - mock draft links, info on who the Colts have apparent interest in, whose stock is rising or falling etc., whatever - if anyone feels like it.

I know mock drafts are hit and miss (mostly miss) but this site has a lot of links to mocks around the internet if you want to kill some time:
http://walterfootball.com/draftdata.php
Here is a list from Walterfootball.com of players the Colts have shown interest in:
http://walterfootball.com/draft2013meetingsteams.php

SR - Senior Bowl meeting.
EW - East-West Shrine meeting.
COM - Combine meeting.
INT - Interested.
VINT - Very Interested.
PRO - Pro Day meeting.
PRI - Private Workout.
% - indicates more than one meeting.
# - indicates meeting set up outside of the 2013 Senior Bowl or the 2013 East-West Shrine Game

Anthony Capasso, WR, Ashland (PRO)
DeWayne Cherrington, DL, Mississippi State (PRO)
Corey Fuller, WR, Virginia Tech (EW)
Tyrone Goard, WR, Eastern Kentucky (PRI)
Ray Graham, RB, Pittsburgh (EW)
MarQueis Gray, TE, Minnesota (PRI)
Lane Johnson, OT, Oklahoma (COM) (INT) (SR)
Luke Marquardt, OT, Azusa Pacific (COM)
Vance McDonald, TE, Rice (SR)
Christine Michael, RB, Texas A&M (PRI)
Ty Powell, LB, Harding (SR)
Shamarko Thomas, S, Syracuse (EW)
Earl Watford, OL, James Madison (EW)
Duke Williams, S, Nevada (PRI)
Sylvester Williams, DL, North Carolina (SR)

----------------------------------------

We can also add:
Quinton Patton, WR, La. Tech (PRI)

kind of disappointed they couldn't trade down to get another pick. all the florida state highlights show this guy in a 4-3. hopefully he can convert to OLB or play DE in a 3-4?
This Jones guy looks better than Werner, and he is DE in a 3-4. I don't know either player but I'm confused.

Well he played in a 4-3, so the highlights are going to be mostly 4-3, doesn't mean he can't convert.

I was so hyped up because I thought we'd get Floyd. Woerner will be good, though.

I think it's a great pick up. Who needs Paul Kruger??!
Hopefully he really is NFL ready. Kruger wasn't.

If the guy Houston took turns out to be a good one, I'mma be pissed.

Also, ESPN saying the Vikes are offering a 2nd, 3rd, AND 4th to a team to get back into the 1st.

Wanna guess what team it is?

*sigh*

Sorry, i don't like it, not when we have only one pick in the first 2 rounds.

i think that the Colts have gotten into Watt/Kruger hysteria. This guy better be as quick as a cat because he is going to be engulfed by NFL linemen.

I just don't like this for the first round.

Fortunately the Patriots never seem to use their picks, they just trade them for more and more and more picks.

Sounds about like what people said about Freeney when he was selected though. We needed to improve our front seven and we did this off-season. Anytime you can get a guy who is a likely future starter you have to make the move.

Well we improved our secondary more than our front 7, but I get what you're saying,we improved both.

I loved the Freeney pick, but even in college you could see that Freeney was a physical specimen.

This guy supposedly has a high motor, but he's 266lbs and played on the outside of a 4-3. Right now, he looks like he might be a nice situational pass rusher, but by the end of the year he might be 255lbs. And if he puts on weight, does he lose speed?

Like I said, i hope that I'm wrong, but for a team that only has a first rounder and no 2nd, I'm disappointed. Obviously, Chuck went for a Kruger clone.

Man still pumped about our pick
Werner will help our pass rush
Stronger than he looks. Very quick for his size
Will play mostly on pass rushing downs
But can play OLB on run downs
I feel Werner will replace Jerry Hughes role

If Werner wasn't drafted to compete with Walden out of the gate then why was he drafted? Walden was insurance, this is the kid they want to start.

Pagano said the plan is to line Werner up opposite Mathis is passing situations and “tell him to sic ‘em.”

“High motor. Big, strong, good get-off. His ceiling is enormous,’’ he said.

General manager Ryan Grigson also was quick to praise his newest defensive talent.

“He’s a (heck) of a football player,” he said. “Thirteen sacks, ACC Player of the Year. Put on the film and he jumps off the screen at you.

“This guy is productive, plays hard. He fits coach’s mold.”

They have said Walden will set the edge on run plays
Starting in the Nfl is kinda not a big deal
He'll maybe Werner starts instead of Mathis and on pass rush he replaces Walden. Werner is a player

Not about starting agreed, but who is on the field the most. Werner will be out there a lot, more than Hughes ever was.

Anyone else feel like we're going to see a massive run on quarterbacks the first half of round 2?

Anyone want to try giving a 1st next year to trade up into the 2nd to grab an O-lineman again?

Problem is, all the vrtual locks are gone. I'd wait until round 3 and hope that Jones or Quessenberry falls.

Maybe a 2nd for next year and our 4th this year for a 2nd and 5th this year...

Don't want to give up our 1st for next year...
And not just for OL. Maybe for Woods or Patton. Or one of the big NT's...

I want to add, if we DO trade our 1st for next year, I'd want to at least get a 2nd AND a 3rd. Give us 4 picks in the next 3 rounds, 3 in the next 2, I probably wont complain. Should be able to get some starting caliber players there at C/OG, NT, WR, RB or DB if we do that...

I'm surprised the NFL Network didn't have a crew at the Manti Te'o draft party given how much attention they devoted to him all through the draft process.

I thought that he locked himself in a gated community and wasn't meeting with the press?

I've not seen any other player whose highlight real has had more air time than Manti. You'd think he was the no. 1 pick based on the NFL Network coverage.
