Interesting. I respect Jerimiah's opinions.

Day 1 starter, big time
If he is an upgrade over McGlynn or Reitz , we did great
We needed a mauler at RG
I think we got him

We got the guard everyone was anxious for.
I do like this new era of Colts football, drafting big, skilled offensive lineman as opposed to little guys who do well in a zone blocking scheme.

Man, looking at this OLine, this thing is really starting to take shape.... Costanzo, Thornton, Satele, Thomas, Cherilous.... Hell, im almost thinking Linkenbluhhhh may not even make the final roster..... Which would be awesome

Hopefully he doesn't because we find a really guard/tackle in rookie free agency or the later rounds for depth.
Best part about Thornton, too, is he is a potential tackle if we suffer a loss there to injury. Love everything I've read about him so far.

Man, this guy's been through alot...

Colts certainly can use a quality guard, and this guy may be it. Seems like a real good pick.

Displays impressive upper-body strength to ragdoll and toss defenders aside at the point of attack. Possesses lateral fluidity and agility to close off the edge, and redirects with some suddenness to thwart the quick counter move. Targets decisively in space and possesses good burst to lead the second-level charge in the run game. Squares up nicely on the run and displays flexibility and suddenness to adjust to defenders coming from various angles in space. Plays with a bit of a nasty streak, and fights to the whistle. Versatile lineman with experience at guard and tackle.

this is one of best descriptions of Hugh that I have come across. I agree with everything the writer came up with. Hugh's run blocking and pass blocking is above average and his nasty streak is something that we as Colt's fans have not seen in a lineman in awhile. Hugh has learned over the last 3 years 2 new systems under different coaching staffs and has improved in both his pass protection and run blocking at the 2nd and 3rd levels. The Oline got a football player today, his versatility (has played every position, except center) is the reason I believe we took him over some of the other lineman available. I would say that McGlynn's days are numbered with the shoe!!!!!

Just remember with the O-line it's going to take them time to reach their full potential. They have to get in sync first.

Watching Thornton on tape, he is a good looking player for some one who is 320lbs

I've read a lot of comments about the Colts O-Line. I don't recall any of them being good and definitely nothing positive about Layonback. I must've missed those.
