Well, I myself am a happy Colt fan - mgmt stuck to the gameplan in this offseason, FA and now draft, and are getting bigger, stronger, and a tad more cantankerous.

Some may have tuned out, but the Colts traded to get into the 5th round and took Montori Hughes, a bit of a behemoth DT with freakish athletic ability and character/work ethic issues. I like the gamble - like Rogers if he'd been the pick at WR, if Hughes can't get his head on straight playing with guys like Mathis and Redding, for a HC like Pagano, no team could do it. Boom or bust in rd 5 is fine with me - rd 4 I suppose, as I think we gave up next year's 4th rder for him.

Our Oline has been bolstered with Thornton and Holmes (center/guard), who, at the least (Holmes), should allow us to jettison some of our fringe OL.

So Bjoern To Rock Werner and Hughes to compete on the D, and 2 new OL, 1 a starter almost for sure, the other should compete to be top backup at perhaps both center and guard.

If Rogers is there in rd 6.....go for it, Rocky (or Grigson, in this case). Unless you want to get Stepfan Taylor, who may slip thru to 7.
Oops - right after us, Arians took Stepfan Taylor.

Agree Von, we are now
Much bigger team. This kid Hughes has great movement skills for someone so big.
BUILD THE MONSTER
Some folks are saying he could rotate some at DE, like the big dude the Ravens have.
Will we say good bye to Jerry Hughes, Drake Nevis, or Richardo Matthews this year? I like Nevis. Matthews and Hughes have done better playing the 3/4
Might say good bye to Linkenbach this year as well.

From the few write ups I could find on Mr Hughes it sounds like Von Voorhees nailed it, a boom or bust pick. Has some character issues but can play football. Hope he can get his head on straight and become a player for us.

Nevis and Mathews have some legit value left. No need to discard quite yet. Unless someone comes in and shows better than Linky, he'll be back too.

I think Nevis is definitely in danger of being cut. Would still love it if he and Hughes somehow turned it around, but I think there is a better chance they'll both be gone this summer, and even more of Polian's failures toward the end of his tenure will be gone.

Nevis' biggest obstacle now is scheme.

Alas Nevis may be a casualty. He could be an amazing under tackle in a 4/3 scheme but he's just not suited to a 3/4 front. Hopefully he'll find his way to a 4/3 team.

If Hughes is kept, which I question, I would imagine it would only be for depth and because he's on his rookie contract.

I also wonder about Brown. Ballard has the #1 job. Williams seems to be a 3rd down back which is pretty much the role Brown would assume.

I'm REALLY liking the M. Hughes pick. He has the perfect size to play 3/4 NT. It also gives us the flexibility to move Chapman outside to DE. Redding, Hughes/McKinney, Chapman should have a lot more success stopping the run than we're used to 'round these parts.
