Due to the impending crisis in South America the German Foreign Office has ordered all German citizens who are not diplomatic personnel to leave the nations of Bolivia and Brazil. As diplomatic efforts are still underway to resolve the situation Germany will not at this time take sanctions against Brazil. But, should the situation deteriorate further, measures being considered by the Chancellery include a trade embargo and freezing all Brazilian assets in Germany. |

The Government of India has released a press statement regarding the recent Brazilian hostilities. In brief the statement said: • The Government advises all Indian citizens not serving as diplomatic personnel within Bolivia and Brazil to exit the countries immediately and find safe refuge in neighbouring countries. • Government officials have begun negotiating with neighbouring countries in the region such as Uruguay, Paraguay and Peru, over the possibility of organising various Government-sponsored flights for Indian refugees at short notice over the coming weeks. • The Government has ordered the recall of all non-essential diplomatic staff within the Indian Embassy in Brazil. The Indian Embassy in Bolivia is to remain open, however will operate under tighter security and all non-essential diplomatic staff have been recalled. • The Indian Government has also announced it shall not enter into any negotiations on the prospective Asian Space Agency, whilst China provides military support to the Brazilian state. • Should the situation escalate further the Indian Government will consider further diplomatic and economic sanctions against Brazil. |

The current ambassador walked into the Brazilian Presidental Mansion. "Now, to business. Russia will provide you with military aid, such as arms and equipment, but in turn, if we are to require any assistance from your military in any operations in South America, you are to be required to help. Do you agree to these terms?" |

Providing security and quick reaction force, the brigades of the 82nd Airborne Division will remain posted at Viru Viru until needed for operations. The 10th Mountain Division will land at Viru Viru and then deploy forward along the Bolivian border, setting up outposts and main supply routes. In supportive roles, the 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 1st Infantry Division, will provide artillery, troop support, and other assistance between the outposts established by the 10th Mountain. Remaining units will post at Viru Viru, which will be fortified and expanded to accommodate the large influx of troops. Estimated ground force strength is around 32,000 soldiers not including tanks and artillery pieces. Combined with the 30,000 active Bolivian forces which will be playing a role in border operations, an estimated total strength of 53,000 ground forces is estimated. The US Navy's carrier strike group will deploy off the coast of Peru, and provide aerial support to the ground units that will include fly zone security, strike missions, and recon missions. Air Force squadrons will provide defensive roles to assure no belligerent forces cross the border into Bolivia. With the deployment of these units, the White House has sent a message to Brazil to halt all potential combat operations and agree to talks, in order to avoid any unnecessary conflict.
