you guys really do interesting theories.
another theory if you guys didn't notice that.one of dead patient cast probably remember morishige. (in before blood drive we all wondered how does he remember morishige since he is erased from existence) but now i think what happened in blood drive made it reveal everything. more importantly...the book of shadows is in ayumi's hands on the final CG....i wondered just now...why didn't she seal the curse in the book instead of herself!? if you think about it. the book posses way more spiritual powers than ayumi.
another interesting thing that flashed right now that...i heard you guys in spoiler tabs that ayumi once broke the border between heavenly host and the real world...and then she "Sealed" heavenly host in herself. so ethically...Ayumi is heavenly host since ayumi now sealed heavenly host in her body...
my point here in my previous talk that...if ayumi and heavenly host right now are one...and she exists in the real world. doesn't that mean that she is bringing heavenly host into our world...another interesting thing that because heavenly host is sealed inside of her..that is maybe one of the reasons that her brain and her body stopped and such. as we know heavenly host feeds on the mind/soul/purity so her mind is melting inside of herself.
can i have a request please!? can someone post the first shinozaki's picture or anything? i am really interested about her...also can anyone explain to me sachiko's twin thing!?

Response We should note that the curse was originally sealed in Sachiko, as was said before. Also, if you think about it, the Book of Shadows isn't exactly a good object and is seen to be malicious at times. (Look at what happened to Hinoe.) If it is put into the tome, wouldn't that make it more evil and possibly just spew it back out? Also, a possibility is that a PERSON is needed to seal it and more specifically, a Shinozaki, which has the capacity to do spells.
As long as she isn't disturbed, Ayumi would probably continue to have HH trapped in her. This leads me to think that if Yoshiki does try and help her our of it, wouldn't that only be possible by breaking her sacrifice?
Anyway, that is a likely explanation to why she is in the state of barely alive. Her entire being is being used to seal off HH and she is dedicating all of herself to protect everyone.
Actually, if you listen carefully to her mumbling in the epilogue, you'd hear her say something along the lines of:
"I'm going to protect everyone. I'm happy that I'm able to protect them." Not in coherent form, but that's the main idea.

Spoiler: click to toggle What if she kinda loses it after al those years as the host of HH? Also, let's remember that the obelisk appears on the city on both timelines. Maybe it had some influence on the people with that time it stayed while Shinozaki and co. were on HH trying to stop it. Not like the timeline where everybody is all darkened.

Spoiler: click to toggle Just a thought... do we know how extensive Ayumi and Yoshikis' erasures are? For all we know, it could just be from their original existence- Ayumi's mother only having one daughter, etc-, but they continue to 'exist' in that universe... but, of course, they have nothing as they DON'T exist. Their births were never recorded, so they don't have a birth certificate, etc.
However, would Ayumi and Yoshiki be able to remember Naomi, Yuka and Satoshi if they ran into each other? Would something like that trigger a response out of Ayumi? It's plausible that, while she's in a vegative state, she has some form of consciousness in her- While you can argue that she didn't respond to Yoshiki as he was talking to her at the end, she DID reply.. maybe not to him, but unless she mumbles to herself all day, it's a bit strange that she spoke after he did.
Maybe that's how the others will make a cameo in DP? Yoshiki gets this idea and decides to track down Naomi after discovering that she's a nurse. Better yet, SHE'S Ayumi's nurse but, despite feeling immensely sorry for her and Yoshiki, doesn't remember them, despite Yoshiki's pleas.
...My God, that would be heart wrenching. Yoshiki: 'Naomi! Please! You have to remember!' Naomi: '...I'm sorry, sir, but I'm not quite sure I understand what you're saying..' Yoshiki: 'She's going to die if you don't remember! Please.. I don't want to lose her, Naomi. She... she's.'
*throws self to the floor*
Naomi has a compassionate nature so, if she were to become Ayumi's nurse, it's likely that she would interact with both Yoshiki and Ayumi to see how they're holding up. She'd then tell Satoshi (easily done if they're in a relationship) about the poor boyfriend who has a girlfriend in a vegative state at her work. She probably wouldn't tell Yuka unless she arrived home upset and Yuka asked her what was wrong. However... I had another thought about the extent of the couple's existence. What if their lack of existence meant that while she remembered them, Naomi wouldn't be able to discuss them? For an example, she tries to tell Satoshi about Ayumi but either forgets or finds herself unable to speak. Another thought is that their lack of existence would cause them to be invisible to others.. but then why would they go to a hospital? Unless.. Yoshiki has figured out that they're invisible and the two live at the hospital/ visit it to obtain access to medical equipment. Again, I find myself wondering about the extent of Ayumi's condition. Is she able to eat, raise her head or use a bathroom? Is she able to indicate when she needs something? How much does Yoshiki have to do for her- bathing her, dressing her, feeding her? If he has to dress or bathe her, I feel so bad for him as he probably would have liked to see her/her body in a more 'appropriate' way. (And he probably thinks that, despite her condition, she's perfect... but, somehow, I don't see DP going down that path. :P)
Can anyone else see Naomi and Satoshi becoming canon in DP? Hopefully Yuka's over her brother by then or that'd be slightly awkward for the three of them..

Spoiler: click to toggle I posted this theory myself a while back. It is very well possible that Naomi will interact with Ayumi by being her nurse. It seems however, that Yoshiki and Ayumi have become paranormal investigators of some sort based on that opening in DP.
Now here is an interesting thought. What if Ayumi and Yoshiki are the villians of DP? Perhaps they are experimenting with the darkening and medical procedures to see if its possible to revive the dead? Thoughts?

Spoiler: click to toggle Ayumi's sacrifice was to seal HHE. Someone with spiritual power had to seal the curse, and only Ayumi who could do it (and maybe Aiko and Magali, but Ayumi chose herself as the vessel). I wish the curse could have been sealed to objects instead.
On an unrelated note, I find it's really interesting that in the first game, there were baby/embryo statue and marble/Baphomet statue in the final chapter, and it turns out the villains in this game are Sachi (embryo absorbed by Sachiko) and Misuto (with Baphomet on his shirt) to unlock the infirmary (a hospital/health center in a sense = Dead Patient in a hospital). I wonder how they came up with this and was this planned from the beginning or just a pure coincidence.
Another theory. What if Ayumi can't contain all the curse and it begins seeping out, causing the event in Dead Patient? The curse then materializes into another form, and when all the curse leaks out, Ayumi regains her consciousness? The characters in Dead Patient now will have to deal with this curse. But this means that Ayumi's sacrifice would have been meaningless, so I don't know.

strange but i agree with luph and BloodStream. actually..the theory that ayumi and yoshiki as villians is almost impossible...they suffered enough to seal the curse so why trying such a dangerous thing like darkening.
also i want to point out that. if my theory that if ayumi's existence as HHe host is right...then won't that mean that her merely existing/staying in our world...means that darkening will spread around!? oh..and if ayumi Died(which will cause a huge disaster to nearly every single fan of corpse party) doesn't that mean that the shinozaki lineage will end eventually!?

Spoiler: click to toggle Perhaps they thought only of Sachi's predicament and Misuto's nature after the release of BR and later made it have a sort of connection to the embryo and Baphomet from the first game. It's really clever, nevertheless. Also, these two people have been key characters that shaped the ending of BloodDrive, therefore sort of opening the stage for Dead Patient. The writers are very clever. That is quite an interesting scenario you've presented. Though I don't want Ayumi's sacrifice to be wasted and that would just end up as a rehash of BloodDrive, so I don't think Kedwin would do that. It may be involved, but with new twists. (I'd like to have it 70% new, 30% old content) If that scenario occurs, I want to think that the curse won't completely be released from Ayumi, but only enough for her to regain her functions. Despite the "vegetative state", she still can mumble, though I doubt she can understand anyone. She probably only mumbles her most powerful thought in the moment of her sacrifice, to protect.
