Naaaaah. I am 17 and will turn 18 next year. But it has been a while, since I started Corpse Party. Around 1,5 to 2 years? So I was 15 or 16 years old, as I played the Game. I liked such mistery games and "Solve Problem" system, such as finding Items to affect your surroundings, like every Horror/Mistery.

For Corpse Party, you need to 1. Read a Lot, 2. You need to have a more then decent English skill, 3. You need to play it consequently, means you should play 1 chapter in on go (what will happen, if you play it).

If you dont read a lot, the horror of this Game is next to nothing. People, who just skip this will not get to know the true horror of Heavenly Host. If you dont have a decent English level, the description of the horror in the tinyest details is worthless, too. And 3....if you have both and play this, you should always play the chapter in One-go.

So people who read a lot and can speak english ( I will say this from my sight (I am German) )....
To aquire both in Germany, a teen would be around 15-16. And I think, thats the perfect Age. From 14 up, I would let it play my Kids, if I would have any. 14 is lala but its still acceptable.

So that was not the answer of this question. I think, to fully understand the terror, you need to be at a higher Age anyway. The Pictures are not good for kids, but you can find any other horror picture and It would be more disturbing (if you dont know the history of the Corpse Party CG). In my eyes. 14 and less will dont understand the terror and 15 and Up will have enough durability to play it.

That was meaning^^

This is a bit of a rant.

For me, being exposed to the "horror" industry at a very young age (about 5 years old) a game like this, at least to me seems as if it's for children with it's Visual Novel style, cute characters, and being spoken in a different language; at least, if the rating wasn't on the box, a lot of modern parents would bat an eye; why wouldn't they? 'Let's buy a game for our 7 year old that exposes the horrors of war to their eyes, and have them yell into a mic!'
(Note: For those who play those types of games, I play 'em too, just sayin' tho. <3)

But there was a conversation me and my friend had, I stress the word friend because she is just a friend (minor rant: CausepeoplefrickingthinkthatwhenItalkaboutsexualthingswithagirlImbangingheraaarrrgggpeoplearesostupid) about that if we had children, at what age would we expose to them a game like Corpse Party. At the time I was a bit more cold-hearted than I am now and completely despised children, and only sought to have one for experimental purposes (i.e Giving them the same exposure I had to see if it would turn them into what I am: "A happy-go-lucky adorable as frick Mattie"; not mine but a friends words, or a "Child of No Light"; from a friend of mine who thinks children will always be innocent little angels. Being me, you learn this is not true as children are always fucking up heavily somewhere.

But back to the subject, I do disagree for games at all being 18+. People campaign for nudism, homosexuality, and other such things (which seem to be glorified to shit by media and of all how well and good and happy for these people (And that's good, I have a lot of those types of friends too) are bUT SUDDENLY: BREAKING NEWS! IF YOU GIVE YOUR KIDS M RATED VIDEO GAMES THEY'LL TURN INTO PSYCHOPATHS THIS IS 100% PROVEN BY SCIENTISTS!

It makes me want to break a marshmellow like rrrrr... but yeah, major point: I disagree. <3

Well, I am 16, and I am really mature, and I started to play Co. Pa. 5 months ago ? Well, I barred with all the scenes and I totally understood all the game, and I played Red Alert 2 and Yuri's Revenge at 7, and if you saw me you would swore that there was Rommel stuck inside of a 7 year old.
But enough with that, in my opinion, it depends on the person if or how he/she handles it.
And about parents accord, my parents know me so when I came up with it, my mother watched with me at the first ch. from CPBC, we both understood the game, and she just asked me if I am sure about it and if I can handle it, I said yes to both, and, here I am, seems that I wasn't wrong :D
One note about mature: believe me that, Gestapo, if you don't have at least 15-17 years, or at least to be mature for that age, well, that book is not for you, Is really hilarious and everything, but god, is full with references of all kinds.

But those other media that show all those things are 18+ too.

Thinking that games shouldn't have 18+ ratings is just silly, movies have them (books don't for some reason) comics have them, plays/musicals sometimes have them, if those things can have them then so can games, games isn't some special medium.

Ok, I'm feeling so old right now xD I'm 23 and everyone else is 13-17 xDD anyway, I voted "disagree", mostly because I don't believe in age restriction rules (like "to see/play this stuff you have to show an ID"). I think that descriptions on covers and more general ratings would be more accurate, because usually the 18+ label makes it look like the game or the film is a lot "worse" than it really is. Also, teens nowadays are much more prone to be exposed to sex and to violence before turning 18 than in the past. I mean, there are people actually having sex at 15-16 (I am not sure about consent age in other countries, here it's 14), what's the point of putting an 18+ rating on stuff because of sexual content? Of course there should be some warning, so that who doesn't want to see that content doesn't buy the game or watch the film, but again, there's no point in legally forbid them to enjoy the stuff.

If there should be an age restriction, I'd say that the ideal maximum should be 14/15+, because before that age I think it should be the parents' responsibility to check on what their child is doing in front of a pc/console. After that, I think it's time for the kids to make their own experiences without complete parental supervision, it's time for them to learn, even the hard way, that some stuff really isn't your thing. If the parents gave them a good education I'm sure there won't be consequences.

*cough cough* Well, considering my age, (which I refuse to mention~) It all really just depends on how they're personality is. Like, I have a few younger friends who I, would, if I was a parent, let them play this. For me, It's more about not looking behind you every five seconds. If a kid keeps shouting that Sachiko will send a piano wire at their head, then take that copy of Corpse Party, and sell, stomp, give away, etc. it. So, overall, disagree, with some acceptions. *is done ranting*

I don't agree with this protection by age. The first horror movie I watched, was "Alien" (and just after, "Aliens") I that moment I was only 7 years old and... OK, I was scared a couple of nights but after this, I discovered the Survival horror games; Silent Hill, Project zero, Dead space, the suffering, clock tower... and corpse party. It's true that some kind of terror like Hostel, isn't recommendable for some ages, but because is only gore and suffering, not psychological horror.

In my country, Spain, lives one killer called José Rabadán, or "The katana killer". In the year 2000, this guy (16 years in that moment) killed his parents and his 9 years old sister with a katana. The TV and newspapers said that José played Final Fantasy VIII many hours and he wanted a different experience in his life. In 2006 the world discover that José had "Down syndrome". This is the difference. "The Columbine High School massacre", is another example with DOOM, but this is not true. That kind of people, with psychological problems needs special care and watchfulness. Apart of this, for me everyone can play usually and with parental attention to the mayority of the horror games (Corpse party include).

PD: If i writed something bad, sorry. I'm from Spain, this is my first post and I don't use google translate. I make an effort for improve my english, XD.
IMPORTANT: If you do not understand my English sometimes, please let me know. I need to improve my English level. And I DO NOT USE google translate.

I got into Corpse Party a few years back as a uh... kid I guess. I loved it.

Anyways, lets get to the meat.
Anybody at any age can play a video game, no matter it's rating. (e.x 7 year old COD players) which parents don't always support, often with the argument that violence in video games "desensitizes" people. My reply to this?
Well, if video games do this, what about movies and TV shows? Wouldn't those desensitize you too? Books? The News? Exactly. You can be desensitized without touching a video game.

Also, another thing to take into account is the comprehension and maturity of the child. When I was 12, I was a proud Honor Student in my school. I enjoyed reading books that other kids my age would pass by (Animal Farm, The Metamorphosis...) simply because they lacked the skills to fully understand the true value and intention of the author who wrote the book. I liked Corpse Party a lot because it interested me with it's occult-ish world and the insane characters. and boobies

If you gave a game like Corpse Party to a less mature child, they'd be more likely to let it influence behavior to some degree. (I do believe video games can do that to some extent.)

Oh oww my brain hurts from analyzing this too much.... I don't care, have fun kids!
Yeah. I see no issue with kids being into Corpse Party. As long as they're respectable to the other people on the internet and such, not being annoying... (I'm probably not one to talk, heheheh)

Yeah. Have a nice day.

Oh and I am a stuck up narcissist when it comes to how I behaved as a kid. Excuse dat. XD

Lover of Tokyo Ghoul and Noragami. I also enjoy reading novels of all genre types and playing video games. I am currently getting educated online because I am unable to attend school due to anxiety.

I also breed rabbits every year or so. Here's a pic of one.

Well... It depends. I think the age doesn't matter, the games should be ranked by maturity. I played Corpse Party when I was 13, and before that I played a lot of horror RPGs, basically I'm immune to psychological terror. I've seen games like Alice Madness Returns ranked 18+ and I don't know why, the game it's just bizarre, not scary (there's only one "gore" scene in one animation). So, I'm disagree, I would rank Corpse Party 16+ or 14+.
I'm not Satoshi... But... I'm going to protect you anyway!
