http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=W4Cro2yxRjw I hope you guys don't mind if I turn this into a review,(cause you're gonna need it). Obscura by Gorguts. Release date: 1998. Let me start off by saying that Obscura is my all time favorite record. There's not one day that I don't listen to this record. While you would think this record is about blood and gore, Just by assumption due to the bands name. This record is about different detailed experiences of your own death. Be warned though. If you're not a fan of technical death metal or free form jazz. You're going to have a hard time getting into this song. Words literally can't describe the way the song is composed. And don't be surprised if you can't understand the chorus since its written in Latin( the band is Canadian by the way). At first it's gonna sound like noise but after a couple spins it starts to make sense. And if you're depressed, you'll either find the meaning enlightening or make you feel like hell. I could go on but I think I made my point. Like the song or not, either way is fine by me. Thank you for reading and rest in peace Steeve Hurdle. |

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qHm9MG9xw1o ^ Secrets, by One Republic. I usually only listen to video game OSTs, but this song is a special exception. It feels so free, somehow.

http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=kHk7HOS11YA The Philosopher by Death. Release date: 1993. This song is basically about people who think they know everything about you but they really don't. Just from the lyrical theme alone. You can tell its not your usual death metal song. (which is a good thing). Now I know I'm gonna get slammed for saying this. But when I listen to this song. I think of the argument between Naomi and Seiko. (I like to call Seiko "The Philosopher"). Now don't get me wrong. I like her, but in some twisted way. The song seems a bit relevant. (I put the song in Naomi's perspective). Especially with the line in the second verse,"So you preach about how I'm supposed to be? Yet you don't know your own sexuality?). Even if you kill me. Who cares. I'm already dead. ... Rest in peace, Chuck Schuldiner. |

http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=MUmS9TVspAU Blooddrunk by Children Of Bodom. Release date: 2008. Now I may not know jack when it comes to pop music in Japan but I do know one genre that's popular over there and that's Death Metal. Namely CoB. To get the lyrical theme out of the way. It's about getting drunk and cutting yourself. If you've read about half of my post on this forum, I never shut up about CoB. The lyrics may not be the strongest feature in the band but its strength is in everything else. They were the first band that listened to that actually has a keyboardist.(a badass keyboardist by the way). They've been around for almost twenty years now and at this point, there's not many people who haven't heard of them. Writers note, theyre the reason why I wanna check out Finland. |

Here's two from my arsenal. Their both from Gorguts, both released from the same record"The Erosion Of Sanity". Release date:1993. First track," Condemned To Obscurity" http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=CYTpR3VhzUk And the second track,"Dormant Misery" http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=viPMwmLuKB4 I at least recommend to listen to the intro's to both songs. And tell me if you hear a resemblance to the music for Ib. The first track resembles the ambience in the museum and the second track reminds me of the game over song, played on a Spanish acoustic guitar. |

Anybody here like Horrorcore? Here's some King Gordy, whom I originate from the same State as. And as a note. Due to the fact that Horrorcore music is most popular among Juggalos, AKA fans of Insane Clown Posse, and other Psycopathic Records artists, I just wanted to say that I do not Identify as a Juggalo. I like a little Horrorcore, but other than that, I am not much of a Juggalo. King Gordy - Go Ahead and Die |

I was gonna a wait until May 16th to show you guys this particular song but I'm bored with waiting. Black Sabbath by Black Sabbath. Release date: 1970 http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=X3c3gsjgdXA Bottom line, this is the first Heavy Metal song ever written. This song was composed by vocalist Ozzy Osbourne, guitarist Tony Iommi, bassist Geezer Butler and drummer Bill Ward in Birmingham, England. The premise for this track is about a night when Geezer was reading through a 15th century era book of black magic. He woke up at 3am because he heard something creep into his bedroom and across his bed was a tall, black mist-like silhouette standing a foot away from his bed. The figure pointed at him, gave this strange hissing noise and as Geezer flinched, he opened his eyes to see the silhouette was gone and so was the book. The next morning, he tells the rest of his band about his encounter with the black figure and Ozzy loved the idea of something so sinister. So they began writing about it and everything else is history. It's a pretty simple story but I loved hearing about it and I definitely love this song. My challenge for you guys is to listen to the song and try NOT imagining Yoshie Shinozaki. Edited by Yoshie Shinozaki, March 9, 2014, 1:32 pm.
